If you want to change things up on your bike it can get costly. Especially if you realize that you don't fancy the colour you originally picked. How will that orange frame look with brown parts? What if I had green rims on my purple bike? Wonder no more as Thomas Walentin has made a BMX-Colour-Editor, based on Flash, which gives you a near photorealistik view on the colorscheme that you have in mind. We fired over some questions to Thomas and here's what he came back with. What made you decide to make a colour editor for BMX?
Thomas: Actually it was a spontaneous idea. I wanted to see how my 3d bmx model looks with other colours without waiting for the computer to render the image.
Can everybody use it?
Thomas: Yes of cause everybody can use it, exept for commercial use.
Have you always been interested in how things look on your bike yourself?
Thomas: Not really, it just needs to be cheap. If I find a good Part that is ugly but cheap I would probably buy it.
Do you know if companies will use this to see what colour combinations will work for their new bikes?
Thomas: Yes, but maybe it`s more interessting for companies to offer their customers such a option. I can imagine a website with a custom bike (colour&parts) creator...
