How long have you been riding for Orbea? Dez: Since November 2013
What makes this frame so good? Dez: I'm riding the shorted version which is great for my length (I'm not as tall as many Dutch guys). Just great control for all round flatland riding, front and backwheel. Good space for jumps, nice length for whiplashes and to do some street orientated tricks. And I can do al my technical riding stuff.
Do you like it when flatland specific frames actually have a BMX bike design without bent tubes etc? Dez: yes it's better for strength besides the look. I like to do bunny hop tail whips so the frame needs to be able to take some hits. With the bend tubes the frames weren't strong enough and the only gave a little bit advantage for a very few tricks.
What part on this new bike is the oldest? Dez: The cranks.
Do you have your rear hub set up a special way? Dez: Yes! I tried many different freecoasters and I like this one the most after some adjustments. I removed a ring on advice of Viki and I changed the aluminum cone on the driver side for a steel one from some old front hub. It rolls great, is light and has slim design. The gap is pretty big now but it makes sure the freecoaster works well and you can do some pedal tricks on the backwheel without being scared the freecoaster stops working!
Thanks to: To Bart de Jong for this bike check. Viki and Orbea for the support. Seongtaek Kwon at Karhu for the great riding shoes. And Soulcycle/Rock n Roll Distribution for supporting me!
