How does it feel to build up a new bike?
Tom Isted: So good it's like being a kid at Christmas when you get to be build a bike for the ground up how you want it.
What happened to the old one?
Tom Isted: Nothing really, I think it's still in my bike bag as I had all my new bits waiting for me when I got home.
Do you like to try out new parts or do you stick to what works best for you?
Tom Isted: I've been trying out a few different tyres the last few months. I think I've found a set up I like now.
Which shop or mailorder do you refer new BMX customers to when you are asked?
Tom Isted: www.deadsailorbmx.com
What needs to be done to get more kids on BMX bikes?
Tom Isted: Just the opportunity to start riding in the first place. Parents just seem they've got to give them an Xbox or PlayStation instead of getting outside those days.
What's your contribution to make the sport of BMX better?
Tom Isted: I have no idea I just try and encourage kids to the skate park to ride and get them excited to ride and not just push them away.
Does having a good/decent bike from the start make a big difference for kids who are starting out?
Tom Isted: I think that you don't have to have a top end bike from the start as you're not going to be doing anything too crazy but anything from the mongoose range will keep them rolling sweet.
What's a trick you want to do on this Mongoose that you have never done before?
Tom Isted: There are a few things I want to do but I don't want to call myself out now haha
Thanks to: Massive thank you to Leigh and Steve at mongoose, Mark at Cyclesportsgroup, Pete at deadsailor, Ryan at extreme, and Paul at fuse.
