We figure you've made it a challenge to get the lightest bike out there?
Ricky Veronick: I certainly have! I wanted to see how light a useable bike could possibly be and I was very curious how that would affect daily riding.
Have you met someone else who has a lighter bike than yours?
Ricky Veronick: Nope! Not a bmx freestyle bike anyway, this bike is even lighter than a lot of race bikes.
A light bike doesn't work if parts keep breaking. What's a part you won't buy/use again?
Ricky Veronick: There are a lot of things I experimented with that I won't buy again. I had carbon fiber nokon beads that did not work at all, titanium headsets that broke quickly, a titanium chain which worked but not for long enough considering the cost.
Do you find doing tricks on a light bike easier?
Ricky Veronick: Yes and no. While it made a lot of things physically easier, it made them a bit more challenging because the lack of weight changed the tricks entirely.
How nice is it to pick up your bike when you have to put it in the car?
Ricky Veronick: Haha that is very nice, I have no problems moving it around!
You can stay within the weight limit at the airlines easier also. Is that one of the reasons you're going light on the bike?
Ricky Veronick: I hadn't thought of that initially but it has turned out to be a great perk!
What do you ride most often?
Ricky Veronick: I pretty much exclusively ride park, after many years of riding I find it's what I enjoy the most. Plus I don't want to get my bike dirty.
What's the part on your bike you like most?
Ricky Veronick: I put so much time into every piece of the bike so it's hard to choose. I really like my bars, they were based off of the coalition holy cross bars. But I also really like my stem, my cranks, and my bluesix bolts. I just really like the parts that are unique or hard to get.
Any thanks to anybody to wrap this up?
Ricky Veronick: I'd like to thank Khe for all the tires and other sweet parts, thanks to Charles at Bluesix for the custom bolts and all the anodizing he has done for me, and lastly thanks to Dylan Santa for letting me stay at his house to ride The Kitchen, best park ever!
