What's in a name? The Snafu 8.6 bars do have a story behind it. If you're not familiar with the Bavaria 8.6 beers I'll let you know that it's a heavy brew, made in Lieshout, Netherlands. In fact one day McGoo, Sully, Paul and I rode our bikes there to have a few brewski's. The 8.6 beer is strong. It had Day Smith pass out at the 1994 FATJAM after drinking two of them. But McGoo became the king

of the 8.6 beer in Lieshout by drinking 4 in a row and riding his bike back to Aarle-Rixtel. And now here we have it, the Snafu 8.6 bars. 8.6 inches tall and no percentage of alcohol inside.

.4mm wall heat treated 4130 chromoly. The most distinctive visual feature is our trumpet-butted crossbar. this tube tapers from 17mm in the center to 21mm on the ends. The increase in surface area at this joint reduces heat embrittlement from welding—something to think about with modern thin-walled tubing.
