GBH Ramps does the Double in Wales

January 2006. Starting the year on a high, GBH Ramps has just completed works on two parks in Beddau and Gelligaled. Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council has been committed to providing exceptional skate facilities for the youth in their area and through a tender process selected GBH Engineering as the choice company to design and construct their two new skateparks.

The Gelligaled Park has unique hipped quarterpipes with infill. Slap bang in the middle of the park is a single tranny –jump driveway, spine volcano combo unit, with a flatbank/quarter unit; fully coped with superlong sub box bringing up the rear. You can find the park next to the Ystrad Sports Centre off Tyntyla Road. Head towards the southern end of the Gelligaled Park, stop before you hit the water of the paddling pool and the skatepark is right next door.

Moving onto the Beddau skatepark which is specially equipped with an extra wide mini; the 3m super deep platforms allow good turning space for bmxers. Tackle the integrated driveway combo unit complete with rails and steps, then flow out onto the quarterpipe/flatbank/rollin section which gives good return back into the park. This little beauty of a park can be found on Gwaunmiskin Road, Mount Pleasant Park, Beddau.
