The day had started off great with breakfast at Taco Bell. They didn’t serve breakfast anymore so it was straight to the real deal. You probably don’t know how much we’re craving for Taco Bell each time we go to the USA. There’s none close in Europe. They’ve got one in Madrid, closed all the public ones in England but there are two more on military bases. It’s pretty impossible to find it so to say. We’d been in the USA for 2 days and still didn’t have any delicious Taco Bell food yet so we dug in deep and then cruised over to see Bob. I’d sent him a text to let him know we were coming but did not get a reply back. We still drove over and found him at his place working on some 2012 Moose gear. We headed over to Starbucks, chatted for a while and then it was over Mirraco real quick to pick up some stuff and then to Oakley for the opening of the new pump track there.
Visiting Oakley is always interesting. This time, they had a tank parked there. A damn tank! The torpedo was moved outside and some bitchin’ new Oakley trucks were parked in front of the bunker. We did a quick trip through the museum and then headed out back for the new pump track. As expected, from Oakley at least, the dirt course was bitchin’.BMX-ers present to cruise the pump track were a.o. Eddie Fiola, Jim Cielencki, Lawrence, Blickster, and if you want to allow Anneke Beerten and Brian Lopes to the BMX list we're fine with that. People rode non stop and around 5pm we headed out to see Mrs De Wilde and daughter Lima who live practically around the corner.
After dinner with Anneke, Mariella, & Lima, we drove over in the direction of San Diego. It was getting late to go down to Chula Vista for the time trials so we checked into a hotel, updated the site and passed out. Another great day. Cali I love you.
