One Hundred Percent for the 10am appointment. We had a chat with Herve Orny and Ludo himself on the company's position in the market. We were shown around and then headed back to the Snapdragon stadium for Media day. We ran into former Vans BMX rider MC Dan Hubbard and BMX media legend Steve "Guy-B" Giberson while shooting some photos for future articles here on FATBMX.
When the MX session was done we had some time to kill. We decided to give Clairmont's Park a shot and ran into Gary Young straight away. It's nice to see that some riders have found their place in life. Gary runs the YMCA park, and looks to be right at home. He gets to ride, provides cool jobs for friends and sees riders improve on their riding. The session on the vert ramp was going off (scooters, inliners/rollerskaters and skateboarders) which was good to see. The place looked like a good time.
When in San Diego a trip to Hamel's in Mission Beach isn't too far. Although it was getting dark already, we made it to the flatland circle for old times sake. Memories to the early '90s came back as we spent quite some time meeting up and doing tricks at this place. "Hello, do you have a car?" That one is for a few insiders.
Back on the 90-minute drive to Newport to check on the photos and post some things on social media and then to bed as the following day was "Race Day" in San Diego.
