While in Utah we got a ride from Keith Mulligan over to Matt Beringer's house. We had seen his place from several videos and magazine coverage but getting to a place like that and stepping in the door is a completely different game. If the Kids get united you can move a really shady looking Snakerun into a god damn nice place to ride. The Local Kids started to raise Money to paint their spot. I heard about the idea and said nice one. Asked them if they asked the local Skateboard companies, they said no. So I did . Went to Globe Shoes and they gave enough to paint everything once again. So big up yourself and thanks a lot once again to Carmen and Bärty at Globe. 

Ryan Guettler has done some gardening in his backyard. In fact, the gardening was done with a nailgun, some sawblades and plenty of wood. Ryan is now the owner of a backyard spine ramp and recently had an opening barbeque with all his friends in Greenville, North Carolina. It's not quite the same as Ryan Nyquist's Unit or Dave Mirra's warehouse down the street but it makes riding so much better if you can just hit it up in your backyard.  Just check the photos of the first session.

I wish to express my concern over the future of the facility of which I have been a part of for several years now, that doesn't seem to have been considered in the redevelopment designs of the southwest quadrant. I feel it is a shame that no one has put a value to our facility, which has gained respect locally and globally (type in "Bridport Indoor Skate park" or "The Trick Factory" into Google if you doubt this). Put simply, we run on a not for profit basis an all weather leisure facility that is used by locals and skateboard/bmx enthusiasts who travel from far and wide to use the unique construction.

Looking at the bigger picture it would appear that the south west

In England there's one park that has brought forward a new breed of BMX riders. Alistair Whitton, Owain Clegg, Robin Fenlon and Jon Taylor were locals at this indoor facility for a long time. Anybody who runs a park knows that it gets rough at some point to keep things open. The Boneyard recently invested in some new ramps and some new surface to keep things going. Calabazas dirt jumps in Cupertino, California have been around for years. A lawsuit shut the whole place down a while back after someone hurt themselves riding there. Last weekend was the official re-opening ceremony and I walked away with loads of dirt up my nose and a free towel ( new bike rag ) from some new Disney movie. Don't ask me what the marketing connection is there. The folks from Red Bull were in attendance and handing out their product to keep every kid there awake for the next month.

LA City is opening its new concrete skatepark, Garvanza Skatepark in Highland Park. The park is big and spread out with a 9 ft. deepvert swimming pool inspired pool and a large street course. They told Todd Seligman that they would allow bikes. Now they are saying that the contractor will void the warrenty if bikes are allowed. The guy that runs the park for the city wants to allow bikes and he is encouraging as many BMXers to show up on Friday as possible.

Whistler, Canada is an amazing place. The mountains are beautiful, the air is fresh and there are plenty of activities you can do. Of course a concrete skatepark had to be built. The Whistler skateboard park was built in October of the year 2000 with skateboarding in mind. There are signs that say No Mountain Bikes, but we ride a BMX, don't we? 

The Sugarhill in Aarle-Rixtel were pretty much plowed but built back up again in the same day. The starting hill became higher and steeper, the 4 pack on the outside is big, the three turns in the West are all new and on the way back there are some bigger jumps that will require some serious pedaling. The "kids" now start from the sketchy blue ramp and have three tables before making the 180 degree berm. On the way back there are some step-ups and a table. The North-West turn has become bigger and the wall is still there.

Masterbuilder JD SENNID and the GENERAL LEE have changed the famous SUGARHILLS trails in Aarle-Rixtel last weekend. Together with a lot of locals and a bulldozer provided by the city of Laarbeek they worked their ass off to make new lines. You can find 2 big jumps right from the higher/steeper starting hill and going to a big berm coming back with 4 jumps with all kinds of transfer posibilities ending in a big berm/pool and a wall ride. Of course it is not ready yet but if you come over with a shovel it will be ready sooner so don't be lazy and help the SUGARHILL locals to make the trails better than ever before.
