The BMXINVASION BIKE BATTLE 4 "BIKE TO SCHOOL" contest went down at SKATE 57 PARK. BMX riders along with an enthusiastic crowd were on hand to take in all the fun and action. A great display of action packed riding was on the menue for the event. The youngster from Toms River NJ. Garrett Reynolds took home the gold as he was busting out some difficult tricks. In second place another youngster who put on great display of bmx riding is Ben Hittle. Falling into the third place position is Phillip Kane. Fourth place went to Andre Postell who was taking it hard on the flip whip but managed to recover with some cool riding.Our fifth place shredder is Mike Fede who destroyed a few bikes today attempting to kill what ever came in the way of his front tire. Mike managed to get through the run with a few loner bikes.

How cool would it be for people to come in your backyard and build some ramps. Well, that's happening in Matt Bischoff's yard in Ohio with the RedBull BuildOff. Confused? read on. And while we were at it, we checked on Matt's Failure Bikes situation too. -So what's going to happen in your backyard with that RedBull thing? Basically, I thought it would rule to do a contest where ramp builders, which to me is an art form, would have a 3 day period to build ramps. I approached Wessel and we came up with a list of builders to participate.

August 2005 - Brighton will host one of Europe’s most prestigious BMX competitions as the Etnies Backyard Jam (EBYJ) hits the Brighton Centre from 21 – 23 October 2005, ready with a 375 m2 purpose built street course, retail area and Snickers public street course. Now in its 12th year the Etnies Backyard Jam is coming back bigger and better, with riders confirmed from Etnies, Federal and Hoffman bikes including Jamie Bestwick, Morgan Wade, Taj Mihelich, Mike Escamilla, Ruben Alcantara, Mike Aitken, Van Homan, Corey Martinez, Bas Keep, Jon Taylor and Sergio Layos to mention but a few. With such a line up and the relaxed atmosphere the EBYJ is famous for, riders will be pushing themselves in the face of a record prize pool of $40,000 overall.

RED BULL BACKYARD BUILD-OFF invades Cincinnati. Worlds’ best to compete on the unknown at inaugural course design competition Santa Monica, CA – August, 2005 – The inaugural Red Bull BackyardBuild-Off is hammering its way to the Queen City backyard of Matt Bischoff aka The Failure Compound October 5 – 9, 2005. Whether they use a jigsaw, drill press, or just good old fashion blood and sweat, the three teams of world renowned ramp designers and builders will each have the same amount of raw materials and three full days to design and construct the ultimate BMX course.
