Mike Castillo, better known as Big Island has found work over in Hollywood. Big is working at Mark Mahoney's tattoo studio called: Shamrock Social Club. It doesn't get much better than that in tattoo land. Big Island is doing jobs left and right sweeping floors and writing down appointments. With Mark Mahoney around it's a good way to learn how the job gets done. Expect Big to start taking appointments himself in a year or so. When you're in Hollywood, stop by and say hi. Kink BMX's Jim Cielencki is opening a bike/skate shop called Sunday Skate BMX in his hometown of Buffalo, NY. It should be open in a few months. He already has a key to the place. Danny Hickerson won the Front Yard jam held in Ventura, Ca. last week. The contest was organized by Ryan Sher. Dirty Dan Bogard is finishing up the design of his signature frame. They'll be available some time in May. The Kink crew was challenged by a unicycle that showed up at their offices. While most people have a hard time hopping on, Jim Cielencki grabbed the thing and just started pedaling. Will it be a new item for his Sunday Skate BMX store?

FRONT BRAKE REVOLUTION GOES STATESIDE The “Front Brake Revolutionâ€? part 2 is to take place at: Rampage Skatepark, Davenport, Iowa, USA on 18 th /19 th /20 th March 2005. Jam creators and organisers: Ben Foakes and partner Jasmine O’Brien have teamed up with Standard Industries’ Rick Moliterno to make the project happen. Rampage Skatepark will sadly close indefinitely the week after FBR 2 and this will be the last chance for riders to congregate at the legendary location and bid it farewell. Special ramp modifications are being prepared in the weeks leading up to the jam to make the park more BMX friendly.

Here's some info about Snickers activities this year. Snickers Sundays are back with a vengeance, but rather than cramming it all into the summer months we've decided to spread it out across the year - Snickers Sundays events will be taking place in the first and last 3 months of the year, with Snickers Best Trick events occupying the summer months. Throughout the year, Snickers will be touring the country, each month focusing on a different region. See below for a press release along with dates, with more to be confirmed. SUNDAY IS NO LONGER A DAY OF REST Sundays used to be a day of rest but ‘SNICKERS Sundays’ are back to liven up the weekends throughout 2005. At weekends, SNICKERS is teaming up with selected skate parks up and down the country to offer free admission to the first 100 people attending a Snickers Sunday (so get there early to avoid disappointment).

Todd Lyons was one to the first riders I remember getting his own name registered for a website. I was laughing at the www.toddlyons.com stickers on his bike at the time because it seemed out of place for BMX-ers to have a personal website. Well, times have changed and it's now common to stumble across riders' sites. What makes TL's site good is that he does regular updates talking about the Bikes, the Beers and the Bitches. Australian HARO rider Luke Parslow won the X-Air dirt jump comp in NZ. A huge crowd witnessed Luke's first major competition win and he beat a strong field with the likes of Nyquist, Bohan, Guettler, Mackay. Ryan Nyquist finished 3rd behind Guettler. His sponsor Repco Sport were so hyped about Luke's win at X-Air that they shouted him a flight in a Mig Jet Fighter! But Luke wasn't so happy after the flight feeling the effects of the 4G turns.

Oh boy, it's getting close. The Supercross of San Francisco is starting tomorrow. It's 23:30pm at the moment and I'm typing this from a groovy hotel on Grant street in downtown SF. The stadium is down the street and it has been raining a lot. This race might turn into a mud fest but I'm okay with that.
