Jubilee, 20th edition of the Pannonian Challenge is slowly coming to an end, but before the big final day, which will truly bring the best of the world's top BMX on Sunday, the selection through the difficult qualifications must be made. From the very morning, the Osijek skate park will flood drivers on small bikes, warming up for the biggest extreme sports competition in this part of Europe. Amateurs will show their skills at 10 am, while long-awaited qualifications in BMX Elite / Pro are expected at 1.30 pm. Since this season's competition has been packed with a number of high- quality riders and regional BMX riders, the same day, in the afternoon, semifinals will be held at 6 pm, where all visitors will see only a fraction of what they expect in the big Sunday finale.
It should be noted that the 20th Pannonian Challenge follows the pulse of Osijek town, which this weekend lives sporty, so all visitors beside the skate park on the left bank of the Drava river can also look at the qualification match of the Croatian national football team against Walesa for EURO 2020.
Today, Woodward PA and West revealed the 2019 VIPs for this year’s summer BMX camp. The world-class destination for both aspiring youth and professional athletes kicked off summer camp this week with pro BMX riders Angie Marino, Matty Cranmer, Kiernan Reilly, Tom Boggard, Charlotte Worthington and many more. Angie Marino dropped by Woodward West to shred and give campers an inside look at what to expect from this year’s summer camp at Woodward PA and West. Check it out here.

USA Cycling announced today the six athletes who will represent the U.S. at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru for BMX Freestyle and BMX Racing. Among the athletes is current BMX Freestyle World Champion Justin Dowell (Virginia Beach, Va.) and 2017 BMX Freestyle World Champion Hannah Roberts (Buchanan, Mich.). “Both Justin and Hannah have had incredible seasons so far this year including winning last week’s World Cup in Montpelier and we want to ensure our athletes are as prepared as possible for the Olympics in Tokyo,” said Scott Schnitzspahn, Vice President of Elite Athletics for USA Cycling, “With BMX Freestyle making its debut in the Games, we are excited to provide them with the opportunity to gain experience competing in a multi-sport event prior to the Olympics.”
Monster Energy’s BMX athletes dominate at FISE in Montpellier, France. Monster Army’s Justin Dowell had an incredible weekend at FISE with a win in the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup, and third place in the Spine Ramp the night before. Rounding out the podium spots are Jose Torres who earned the top spot in Spine Ramp, and Pat Casey with first place in Dirt finals. Teammates Moto Sasaki took third place in UCI BMX Flatland World Cup, and Leandro Moreira took second in Dirt. After qualifying in 10th after the Park Semi Finals, Dowell was one of the first people to ride in the Finals and he set the bar with a score of 91.20. Afterward he anxiously watched as the rest of the heats went down.
The Vans BMX Pro Cup series continues on its exciting 2019 world tour, showcasing the most talented names in BMX as they battle it out for top rankings in the race to the world championships. Landing in Stuttgart, Germany for the first time ever in the series’ history, the Vans BMX Pro Cup will be hosted at the brand new, immaculate Waiblingen BMX Park. Built for BMX riding, the Waiblingen BMX Park features smooth, flowy transitions all around with a max bowl depth of nearly three meters, creating potential for fun, fast, and combination-friendly lines throughout the course. Further, the installation of custom course features at key spots, exclusively for the BMX Pro Cup event, will open up even more lines, transfers and general doors for competitors to utilize the course to its max potential.
The highly-anticipated Germany stop expects a hungry and diverse field of European talent, broadening the potential for new names and faces to emerge in both the men and women’s divisions. Series stars such as local Europeans Sergio Layos and Teresa Azcoaga from Spain, winners of the first stop, remain in good standings, while conversely defending world champion Larry Edgar will look to earn his way back up to the top after unexpectedly finishing in 6th in Australia. The crowd can also expect to see breakout performances by Canadian Corey Walsh and Australian Chris James, who have proven their place in the big leagues by placing 2nd and 3rd at the Sydney event.

The biggest, most extreme and craziest festival in Croatia is about to start. Don't miss the 20th anniversary of Pannonian Challenge. Only two days are left until the opening of the jubilee 20th Pannonian Challenge, the biggest festival of extreme sports in this part of Europe. Throughout five days of the festival, our visitors this year will be able to enjoy top adrenaline entertainment, concerts of regional music stars, party until the dawn, excellent gastronomic offer and socializing with visitors from all over the world. Pannonian Challenge begins on Wednesday, June 5 and lasts until Sunday June 9, and the location is well-known - the left bank of the river Drava in Osijek. On the opening day of the festival, on Wednesday June 5th, famous Croatian bmxer and current world champion Marin Ranteš will with official BMX judge Igor Vukadinovic Pokijem held BMX school for children in the best equipped skate park in the region.
School begins at 3.00 p.m. At 8:30 p.m. volunteers will let lanterns from the Osijek pedestrian bridge and announce the jubilee 20th Pannonian. Exhibition action sports photography and presentation of a book "20 Years Pannonian" will be held in the Casemates at 9.00 p.m., after the opening ceremony DJ Omer and DJ Umbo will entertain guests until the early morning hours. Thursday is a day dedicated to skate in, at 6.00 p.m. the skate finals, at 7:30 p.m. awards, and from 9:00 p.m. party moves to Vega where we will party with Silente, Gužva u 16ercu and Harvo Jay. Friday is reserved for inline and scooter. From 4:30 p.m. in the skate park you can watch scooter session, while the inline pro finals in 6.00 p.m.
Here is a round up of all the action from today and a little recap of what you might have missed at last night's insane BMX Dirt competition. It took 7 years for BMX DIRT (one of the original and main disciplines of FISE) to return to the programme of Montpellier, and last night was worth the wait. The atmosphere was electric, as the sun set and the riders prepared to take on the massive Hurricane Tracks course. The line up was a who's who of BMX Dirt with 60 riders taking part. It was a night of stand out moments, but we have to mention the front bike flip landed by Jaie Toohey. He is one of only two guys on the planet to do that unreal trick. Amazingly his run was only good enough for 3rd, which shows how high the level was last night. In 1st place was Pat Casey who despite the wind
