Back in the day, BMX Freestyle was not officially recognized by Federations. The World Cup and World Championships were managed by private organizations. In 2017, the International Cycling Union organized the 1st World Urban Cycling Championships. BMX Freestyle Park was integrated into the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and BMX Flatland could also have its own place in the future.
