Come this September two-wheeled transportation will take over London as the Sixth Annual Bicycle Film Festival rolls into town. The Bicycle Film Festival kicks off on September 6, 2006 with screenings September 7-9 at The Cochrane Theatre. Ok so I shouldn't be putting this as the beginning; let's face it, it could have been left out but I have to be honest with you ­ I was livid that I had to work the same weekend as the Nottinghill Carnival, Reading festival and a mates party in Leicester but hey that comes with the territory of organising jams. I have to say though that I'm now sitting here eating my own words with a huge slice of humble pie for desert because Bristol was INCREDIBLE!!!! I have never been to Motion before so I was glad we popped in on the Saturday to check out the park and instantly loved the atmosphere. It was clean, fresh and friendly and although it is compact, the space is really well used to ensure smooth lines.

After watching a cross footed flip over the box and some of the riders launch themselves into the foam pit, which sparked a major shoe search, we left the park for the hotel ready to sample the Bristol night life.

The Forte Brothers can start to relax. Their Lookback Poll is over. Maybe Leo and Kye want a rerun of the competition where they will crank that lookback even further. Actually, when going through the pictures from the Masters in Cologne I accidently found out that I had a photo of all three brothers doing a lookback over the same hip. I might have been off with my timing on Leo's or Kye's but in Toby's defence he possibly clicked that lookback even further than shown in the photo. Enough bullshit, Toby has the bragging

UCI is pleased to announce the permanent career numbers for Elite Men and Elite Women. These numbers must be used at all international BMX events worldwide. Starting with the season 2006-2007 (from 1 August 2006), the UCI is introducing a permanent number system for Elite Men & Elite Women. With this system, riders can choose a “career number”, which they have the exclusive right to use for their entire Elite class career. This will give riders a possibility to market themselves and to give media and spectators an easy way to identify riders.

The 2006 Labor Day weekend was a busy time for BMX. The NBL BMX Race season is now officially over, as this past weekend in Louisville, KY the 29th Annual NBL Grand Nationals capped off one of the best Pro racing seasons most can remember. On the ABA side of things, the Pro season is quickly winding down, but just like the NBL this season has been a great year of Pro racing in the ABA with a lot of different winners, and there is still no runaway points leader in AA Pro. With two of the best races of the season going on simultaneously, it was a big decision for many pros on what race to attend. At both locations, something big was going on and the Double A Marketing pros split the races- On the NBL side, with a title on the line; Kyle Bennett, Randy Stumpfhauser, and Cristian Becerine all headed over to Louisville, while Dale Holmes and Brandon Meadows headed over to Reno. 

Cologne, September, 2006  The international bike trade show IFMA Cologne will open its doors on September 16 and 17 for the public. Outside of the trade fair building the BULLS Spine Jam will take place for the first time ­ held on the worldwide¹s largest mobile miniramp, the Braun spine ramp. You're quite the versatile rider doing street/park, dirt and vert. How often do you grab that full face helmet getting some practice in?
 Josh: I ride vert a couple times a month, It's super fun to just blast airs and just flow around. Vert is at a crazy level right now and you really have to ride it all the time to stay comfortable. I try to ride all the Dew Tour comps and a few overseas.

With so many street riders and so little vert riders these days, do you think the prize money should be divided differently as it's harder to make the cut in street/park?

September 4, 2006 - New York, N.Y - The Dew Action Sports Tour, the pro tour of action sports, makes the fourth stop of its second season with the Toyota Challenge, September 7-10, at San Jose’s HP Pavilion. The five-city tour opened in Louisville in June and also includes stops in Denver, Portland and Orlando. Local BMX athletes Ryan Nyquist and Chad Kagy are among the athletes who will be in San Jose to compete for the Dew Cup, awarded at season’s end to the athlete with the highest number of points in each of the six disciplines of skateboarding, BMX, and freestyle motocross. The Tour’s inaugural season BMX champions include Jamie Bestwick (BMX Vert) and Ryan Guettler (BMX Park and BMX Dirt). Each Dew Cup winner received a portion of the $1 million year-end bonus and is competing this season. The Toyota Challenge will feature 150 professional action sports athletes; all qualified for the remainder of the season at the first two stops on the Tour, the Panasonic Open and Right Guard Open. Due to the depth of this year’s athlete talent, the Tour increased the finals field in all disciplines, allowing 12 athletes instead of 10 to advance to the finals. The Tour also increased the size of  BMX Park and BMX Dirt courses so athletes can perform bigger and better tricks.
