At FATBMX we support those riders who are down for the cause. People who are getting off their asses and make stuff happen. It's a long process sometimes but if you don't act yourself, nobody is going to do it for you. If you believe in it, put some energy in the project and don't give up.
John Murray is one of those people. He's a BMaXtivist from Philadelphia and is holding an animal vid premiere and first meeting of BMXactivists where he will introduce the initiative and invite people to help out and join.  

The new ABA Pro Series kicked off this past weekend with great success at the Silver Dollar Nationals in Reno, Nevada. With huge Pro rider counts, a great track and big money on the line, the racing was nothing short of spectacular. By the end of the weekend the ABA handed out $26,500.00 to the top Pro Riders in Women, Vet, A and AA classes.

On the track the racing was a treat for the spectators. Other than Mike Brabant’s domination of A Pro, the other Pro classes featured different winners each day. Women Pro was won by Arielle Martin on Saturday, while Kim Hayashi took the win on Sunday. Darrin Mitchell took the Saturday Vet Pro win, with Todd Parry on the top spot for Sunday. AA Pro was dominated by Bubba Harris on Saturday, however bad luck in the Semi on Sunday left Bubba looking from the grandstands while Kyle Bennett stole the show with the big win with Nate Berkheimer coming in a strong second.

The first contest of the year is a fact. The Pop! Session in Tallinn kicked off the ‘06 season with a vert and street contest. Where the hell is Tallinn? It’s in Estonia. Where the hell is that? Just about 85 kilometers south of Finland, maybe you know where that is. Around this time of the year it’s pretty damn cold in Tallinn and it only gets a couple of hours of day light. Not that we spent a lot of time outdoors. It was either the Saku Suurhall or the bar where time was spent, more so than the comfortable hotel bed.

The Kalmre brothers and their crew had transformed the Saku hall into a skatepark for the weekend. The Red Bull vert ramp was transported in for the 10 vert guys that made it over for the halfpipe contest. The qualification round had 10 riders on the ramp. With all finalists getting a part of the 3500 Euros purse, the goal was to make next days’ final.

Andy: I don´t really have a company name, so I guess it´s just "Andy Zeiss". 2 1/2 years ago when I decided to be self-employed I didn´t want to think about a company name. People were knowing me by Andy Zeiss and not by a company.

We're a little swamped over here at FATBMX and have a lot of reviews to take care of. Maybe this weekend we'll get to it. Zwanzig Zoll riders magazine made it easy for us this time. They came out with a photo issue. Right, you guessed it, great photo's from cover to cover. Next to the killer photos issue 14 has BMX news, a 2006 calendar, video reviews, also reports about the Lumberjack contest (where was Gary Ellis?) and has a Daniel Holzinger interview (he's now on Hoffman Bikes through Fastpace). There's a pictorial on the Rebel Jam and sexy photos of Marie the Zwanzig Zoll girl. Max wrote another column and there are three pages of products presented in the 84 page mag. Zwanzig Zoll will be available at the train station newsstands in Germany (starting in April) and even if the cover price is going up with a Euro, we say it's still worth it. If you're living fairly close to Chenga World, it's time to head over there one last time before it closes. The crew has teamed up with Animal to host the Animal All Day DVD premier this Saturday. You know that the video alone is going to be worth the trip. Bring the bike though and rip it up one more time.

The premiere starts at 10pm.
