New Skatepark Officially Named The Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park Of Oklahoma City OKLAHOMA CITY - Passed by the Oklahoma City Council and Oklahoma City Parks Commission, local BMX icon Mat Hoffman now has a skatepark after his namesake- "The Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park of Oklahoma City". The 26,000 square-foot concrete public park opened in February with Mat Hoffman in attendance. From May 13-May 15, Oklahoma City and the new park will proudly host for the first time Mat Hoffman's Crazy Freakin' Bikers (CFB) Series Presented by Target. The event, which is in its sixth year, is a BMX Freestyle competition that will bring together more than 300 professional and amateur athletes from more than eight countries. Admission to the public is free.

FreedomBMX Bicycle Motocross magazine issue 62 Number 62 of the German BMX magazine goes a bit international with stories on the Props Megatour (with the German WeThePeople company on board) and also made it to Tallinn for the Pop!Session that took place early January. The Wizzards with flattitude is a flatland jam report and also the Whootall JAM is covered in this issue. You can count on sharp photo's from the hands of Kay Clauberg all over issue 62 including the Gallery section. The German scene has been staying busy in the winter with another jam for park riders in Wuerzburg and a Woozy jam on page 54. Want more flatland? got it. Page 56 has a report of the "Flatland fuer arme, flatland fuer beine" contest. For the rich and the poor, for the arms and the legs, or something. Lowcash is taking care of a flatland how-to on page 58 and Gregor Podlesny is demonstrating the downside whip for the park riders. You can find a bunch of products on page 62 and 64 and a cool article on the Youth of Today (not the band). Video and media reviews. Check. It's one full issue. A must for every BMX-er who speaks German.

Origin magazine. 48 pages. Free. Origin is a magazine from the UK that covers MTB, Snowboarding, Wakeboarding, FMX, Surfing and BMX. The only way those type of magazines works is for them to be given out for free. No one is going to spend his hard earned cash on a magazine that only has 4 pages of his/her favorite sport in it. They'll buy a BMX magazine instead. Origin is a free magazine so they got that part right. Issue three has an "Inside the mind of Chris Mahoney" interview (page 28-30). Chris also made the cover. Other than that there's a bit on BMX racing on page 16. Origin is a magazine that can help you kill some time on a (short!) road trip and not worry about your best friend taking it. It's not a loss when you don't have all issues in your magazine collection.

While on the HARO tour we spotted those two ladies in the hotel bar. OBG (One Big German) got in the middle and disappeared! OSG (One Small German) compared to these two women. Consider this pin-up to be a funny one. If you can do better, send us your pin-up picture.

LOS ANGELES - In an unprecedented move for the X Games, ESPN, Inc. and AEG have reached a five-year agreement that will keep the premier action sports, competition in Los Angeles through 2009. It was announced today by Ron Semiao, Senior Vice President, ESPN Original Entertainment, and AEG President and CEO Timothy J. Leiweke. Los Angeles, which has hosted the last two X Games (2003, 2004), will now serve as the site for the next five, beginning with X Games 11 Aug. 4-7, 2005. AEG - owner and operator of STAPLES Center and The Home Depot Center, the two primary X Games venues - represented the City of Los Angeles in reaching the agreement.

Can you say airtime? - The news that Warwick Stevenson had torn his ACL spread quickly. The Warlock's knee isn't healing, it can only be fixed with surgery. Fortunately cycling doesn't require lateral stability in the knee like basketball or tennis. He's just going to race with a brace to stabilize it. The brace should enable him to compete.
