A new year has started and soon enough an invitation arrived from the guys from Asphalt Distribution in France for another edition of the now famous Circle Cow. Carhartt got hooked as the main sponsor so the Carhartt Circle Cow 2005 tournament was born. Held on the weekend of 12 & 13 Februari in Servon, a town close to Paris in the same hall as all the previous years. We went down there on Saturday morning with two cars packing the best of the best of the Dutch flatland scene: James Alberto, Sytse Winkel and Dutch Destroyer Bram Verhallen (FLATtv rider). Plus me, mr. FLATtv and my wife Francis. After a 5-hour ride through some pretty nasty weather we arrived at the scene of the crime and met up with some of our friends from all over Europe: Czech riders with Mirek Hanzl, London Ripper (and FLATtv rough rider) Jason Forde, James Smith & Gareth Hawkins, Stuttgart Boyz Flo & Ass and Sven Steinbach from Karlsruhe. Of course also all our French friends like Alex, Jimmy, Yannick, Stephanie, Arnaud, Cedric Decosse and all the others. Viki Gomez was there, he and Alex were riding the new prototype KGB frames. We were welcomed by organisers Pascal and Ismael, they made sure we didn't miss out on anything.

The Braun Front Brake Revolution was a special contest that evolved around liptricks with the use of a front brake. A 31 minute DVD was produced out of this contest and it turned out really well. It's a must have for all the tech rider that love the aspect of having a front brake on their bike to do good tricks with it. To explain more about the special contest, the DVD has interviews with Senad Grosic, Christophe Huber, Anthony Pill, Adam Banton, Rob Ridge and Mike o'Connell and shows more riding from a.o. Ben Foakes, Pete Marselle and James Weetch. With everyone mentioning Rick Moliterno and Krt Smitt as some of the originaters of front brake ramp tricks, the organization decided to go to Rampage for Front Brake Revolution part 2. Looks like a big posse of tech riders are warming up for this one: "The second Front Brake Revolution is set to be huge, with the ever expanding rider list including: Rick Moliterno, Dave Freimuth, Dave Osato, Brian Vowell, Brian Kachinsky, Rob Nolli, Mike O'Connell, James Hitchcox, Tom Haughen, Dan Seig, Ben Foakes, Jim Reinstra, Senad Grosic, Christoph Huber, Dan Emerich, Neil Keddie, Anthony Pill, Anthony Pearson, Mark Murphy and many more....

Mark Vos is one of the New Breed Riders of Zeeland, The Netherlands. He asked me to not blow up this interview so I'll stop here. Hometown, age, years you've been riding, sponsors, give it to us baby! At the moment I live in 's-Gravenpolder, a small village, the most exiting street obstacle is a 2-stair, and a flat-rail. that’s where I grew up. I'm 20 years old, almost 21. I’ve been doing wheelies since I was 10 years, but the real bmx thing came trough at age 14. So that’s over six years already. And when ED my all-time riding buddy, had his first car we were going to other places and all of a sudden we saw skateparks, other street, and it evolved from there. Regarding sponsors, Oxbow gives me free clothes, and Soulcycle gives me free Orchid shoes. Though I consider you guys Bart and Paul to be homies too, cause Paul hooked me up on Vans and Eastpak before I was getting flow from Orchid. My friends sponsor me I guess. Half of my bike I got it from friends.

Zach Shaw (UK) left the wethepeople company three weeks ago and is now enjoying the freedom to ride any frame and any part he wants. How long it will be before an other company picks up the vert riders is the question. In Zach Shaw related news: "I got Married on October the 2nd last year and have been decorating NON stop since we moved into our new house (which is only 5 miles from Stansted airport) ready for the arrival of our baby which should be in the next 8 weeks!" RIGHTEOUS JAMS *** Lenneke at KUNG FU Europe is back from ???? and send us some CD's again, I had to say hi to Twisted Guido but didn't see or hear from him for a long time so he might read this so my job is done. The Righteous James out Boston finished their full length debut: Rage of Discipline. Touring with the VANS Warped Tour in 2004 they showed that they mean business with old school hardcore and if Dynamo festival was still around they would be playing there for sure. These guys are the new breed of Hardcore so check them out at a concert. They are playing in Europe tonight till Wednesday the 23rd. www.kungfurecords.com

HARO's Warwick Stevenson spent 6 weeks teaching a girl how to ride a BMX bike for an MTV show called MADE. The result was that the spoiled unathlethic girl could barely make it around the track without crashing. It was actually good to show that BMX racing isn't that easy, even if you have personal training from the current UCI World Champion. Warwick received over 1000 E-mails via his website after the MTV Made show was broadcasted and enjoyed the time working with MTV. MTV also liked working with The Warlock and they're going to film an episode of MTV Cribs at Warwick's place soon. Time to clean up the house and stock that fridge!

Colin Winkleman has started a bmx parts/components company called Circus. His plan is to make parts that are of the highest quality that is in his power to design and produce. With past experience designing parts for DK, Colin thinks he has a good grasp on what it takes to make some advancements in BMX tech. Colin: "I also realize that being injured for 6 months now, with the rapid pace of innovation in the industry, it's not entirely possible for me to keep a fresh perspective without being on my bike traveling and seeing all the aspects of bmx I'm usually exposed to on a daily basis.

The photos are exhibited every Monday during February, (Feb 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th ) from 7pm to 1am.
