36 of the world’s best BMX dirt-jumpers and Canadian band Metric will kick up the dirt and make this a Canada Day weekend not to be missed – Red Bull Elevation descends on Whistler July 1, once again revolutionizing the BMX scene with a new, more challenging course, the world’s best riders and high energy entertainment with Metric performing live, making Whistler the place to be this Canada Day. 

With the strong wind all week long the vert competition at the FISE did not look very promising. On top of that there was a little drizzle going on in the morning for a few minutes and everyone knows that storm, the Red Bull ramp and bike riding don't go very well together. It cleared up though and it even got sunny. The wind wasn't too bad but the ramp was still very slick. A quick fix with some special water didn't help very much but it didn't hinder the riders from starting off the vert comp.

There were actually quite a few riders that climbed on top of the ramp but where was Ronnie Surridge? He must have been meeting up with his myspace chicks or something at the time Sebastian Keep, Jon Taylor, Jan Valenta, Matt Fairbairn, Tim Eichert, Jean-Marie Baertsch, Sven Kabusch, Dan Lacey and a few other brave guys started off with the comp. 

After some delays and making us wait for this flick a few more months after they said it would, this was well worth the wait...pretty unbelievable what we got to witness last Friday, May 17th in Lake Forest, California. Just a day ago my good friend Marek "O.G. Blubberboy" de Heus, arrived from Holland for a work/bmx holiday and this was part of a very good couple weeks to come.

DK wants to officially welcome Nina Buitrago to our pro team. We have come to know Nina over the years, her having done shows with the stunt team and feel she is a perfect fit here. Bruno Hoffmann: I don’t know a real point of time, but I think about 5-6 years

Is BMX your life?
Bruno Hoffmann: Nah, not really. I have my life with school, family, friends and stuff. BMX is just a really big part of it.

How do you follow BMX?
Bruno Hoffmann: I just check a few sites on a daily basis. I also like to watch current videos and magazines. 

Dirt riders who are looking for an excuse to go on a road trip should check out the Austrian King Of Dirt. The event is coming up soon ( 1-2 June). and it's in Austria, not Australia. Many pros have visited the event in the past and also this year loads of riders are expected. FELT BMX brand manager Alan Foster informed us that the ticket for Scotty Cranmer to go to the BMX Masters in Cologne, Germany has been booked. It will be Scotty's first presence in Germany and if you have been following the bigger comps you know what Scotty has to offer. We've got a link for you of the latest Scotty movie. It explains the recent FELT BMX ad a little better.

NEW YORK – May 21, 2007 – The AST Dew Tour, the world's premier season-long action sports tour, today announced the creation of a new national charity initiative, AST Drops In. In each AST Dew Tour host city, AST Drops In will work with local charities to introduce disadvantaged children to action sports, providing donations of equipment and funds to incorporate action sports into their daily activities.

Through a relationship with Charity Folks, a leading online marketplace for nonprofit fundraising, the AST Dew Tour will auction off memorabilia and experiential items from Dew Tour athletes and partners. All proceeds from the online auction will benefit the host city’s selected children’s charities.
