What a difference it makes. It's been sunny for two days and I can ride again. Your outlook on life changes because of it. Psyched. Here's a quick review of the June issue of BMX Plus! that has Danny Hickerson on the cover doing an incredible rail ride up 6 stairs to no-hander. Damn!Chad de Groot knows how to score photos. He pulls out his flatland bike for a double page contents spread. Allan Cooke is seriously nuts. See his helicopter stunt. SE scores some good coverage with Postany getting the poster and Gerber getting an Inside the Pros Bikes article. Also Steve Cuesta gets a pro bike check and for those who forgot about Thomas Hancock, he's still around, simply read his interview. Mike Day and Bubba Harris both scored a #1 title in 2005. There's a one-on-one with the two fast racers. Kip Lekker waves to the camera for a full page shot on page 76. Also full page moving pictures go to Biz, Will Love, Brumlow, Johnny Devlin and Eddie Hernandez. Yup, Plus! likes to give coverage to those who deserve it.

The announcement of the Red Bull Bridge Master arrived pretty late. With only a few weeks before the event date, it was still unclear of what it was about. When the first drawings hit the internet, it started to look pretty interesting and with Red Bull behind it, you know it was going to be a crazy event. The starter list of invited riders looked like this: Ben Hennon UK, John Petit FR, Dimitri Ivanov FR, Tobias Wicke DE, Benny Paulsen DE, Hannu Cools BE, Greg van Tulder BE, Senad Grosic AU, Craig Stevens UK, Kye Forte UK, Sebastian Keep UK, Barry Kohne NL, Mark Vos NL, Michael van der Lee NL, Daniel Wijsmuller NL, Bas Brouwer NL, Pim van den Bos NL and Bjorn Mager DE. Not too shabby, especially for Dutch standards.
The day previous to the comp was a hot one. I wore a T-shirt and shorts for the first time of the year and with the event being on the water, I was expecting a good time. The organization had asked people to come over by boat to watch the contest which was taking place on top of the Magere Brug, a historical bridge in Amsterdam.
Kore Bike Industries are presenting the Props Mega Tour 5 video on 28 April next. If the video alone isn't reason enough to go, they've got free pizza, beer and soda. They're giving out some prizes too from their sponsors of the night. Kore Bike Industries is located in Tempe, Arizona, USA. If it's worth a drive up there for free food and a video premier depends on where you're at.
Name: Nate Berkheimer Age: 23 Hometown: Las Vegas, NV
You're doing a bit of everything. Do you feel racing helps your park and dirt riding and riding park/dirt benefits your racing? Nate: I guess they kinda work together, racing helps my other riding in times when you only have a short runway or you need more speed, and riding park and dirt makes a bmx track way more simple than they already are.
There are not too many riders who have done both. Who come to mind as overall riders? Nate: Definitely Brian Foster, he was my hero as a younger rider. Robbie Miranda also does both racing and jumping. There aren't very many riders that can be competitive at both, racing takes a lot of strength training and dirt jumping takes a lot of balls. I just try to give it my all at everything I do.
Long gone are the times when the only people who had tattoos were sailors (anchor on the lower arm), guys who loved mom (I - hart - Mom) and people with jail tattoos. It's not only guys either who get some ink these days. Do you have any tats and are they BMX related? That's the question of this month's FATBMX poll:
a) Got one b) Got tattoos but non BMX related c) No thanks

Name: Chris Doyle Age: 25 Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA
What's your sponsor situation like at the moment? Chris Doyle: I ride for DK bicycles, DC shoes, Pro-Tec Helmets, Square One, Bicycle Union, Maxxis tires, and Sun Rims
You've been loyal to your sponsors, can you explain why you're like that? Chris Doyle: Well, it's a two way street. I have a good relationship with all of my sponsors, but as we all know, good relationships take time and patience. All of my sponsors have put a great deal of faith in me over the years and shown alot of loyalty towards me... It's only appropriate that I show them the same kind of support that they've shown me. I'm not one of those pros that's always on the prowl for the bbd (bigger, better, deal). I think it's better to have a relationship with my sponsors that is based on trust... not money.
