With over $125,000 in prize money on the line, the 36th running of The Grands, this Thanksgiving weekend, makes it the Richest Payout ever handed out in BMX Racing. USA BMX has just upped the ante' for the Pro classes at this years' 36th annual USA BMX Grand National - doubling the regular season payout.

Based on the number of Pros signed up, the total purse for AA-pros will likely be $14,000, while the Women pros will most likely be racing for their share of a $4k purse. With the maximum number of riders (36 or more for AA, and 26 or more for Women Pro), they could compete for as much as $20,000 and $8,000. See USA BMX.com for more details and payouts.

Votes from USABMX licensed BMX riders have come in for the Golden Crank awards which will be given out at the 2013 USA BMX Grand Nationals in Tulsa, OK at the end of this month. Look which riders and what companies made it in the top 5 list. One of them will win the Golden Crank trophy in the Pro, Rookie Pro, Bike of the year and Team of the year category. Cycle Group, Inc. (CGI) is very excited to announce that South African National BMX Team member Teagan O’Keeffe will join the Promax Factory Team in 2014. “Although she is relatively unknown in the U.S., Teagan has a promising future in BMX. She’s young, talented and well liked. We’re really looking forward to working with her and helping her develop as a professional racer,” said Toby Henderson, CGI’s founder.

CGI launched the Promax Factory Team with Arielle Martin and Kory Cook last July after their sponsor severed their contracts mid-season. At the time, CGI was unsure if the team would last beyond the end of the season.

“We were really happy with how things went for Promax. Arielle finished her career really strong and Kory continued to show he could ride with the big boys. With Arielle’s retirement, we had an opening. Teagan has been living and training in Orange County, not far from our offices. Her plan to race the full USA BMX season and UCI GSX Supercross Series fit well with our needs,” Henderson said.

The third round of the 2013 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup, which was held at the Olympic Training Centre in Papendal-Arnhem (NED), has been voted “best event” of the series. Papendal has been given the thumbs up from riders, the UCI BMX Commission, sponsors, the UCI, GSX Events and media representatives. Judging was based on five criteria: event promotion, organisation, the race and track, venue and atmosphere.
