The third stop on the ABA Pro Series tour touch down this weekend at the Sooner Nationals in Guthrie, Oklahoma.  Once again there were BIG Pro rider counts, a excellent track and big, big money on the line, the racing was nothing short of spectacular. By the end of the weekend the ABA PRO ranks had some new faces on top of the PRO podium in Women, Vet, Cruiser,  A and AA classes. Here’s quick look at the weekend.

Women Pro was won by KRYSTAL HIME on Saturday taking her second win of the season. While Redline’s KIMBERLY HAYASHI took her turn on top the PRO podium with her third win this season on Sunday.

AA PRO is really starting to heat up and it’s still early in the season. The Sooner National is the third round of the ABA PRO Series events, and we have already see five different winners. How’s that for excitement?

If you live in the Le Havre area in France you're stoked. The biggest outdoor skatepark of France is being built in this city that is situated 200 kilometers West of Paris. That's good news for the British riders too as it's not too far for them to cross the channel in the rubber boat. If you can, lend a helping hand and show your support. The park will definitely put Le Havre on the BMX/sk8 map. With these kind of parks popping up, we can only say that the future is bright. 

We had close to 500 voters in the 2006 new year resolution poll. We asked what they had planned for the new year and here is how it came out:

-a 360 over the spine        28 % (188 votes)  
-a tailwhip over doubles   23 % (152 votes)  
-a front flip in the foam      12 % (84 votes)  
-an opposite fufanu           10 % (69 votes)
-a flair on vert                        9 % (63 votes)
-the holeshot at a race        8 % (58 votes)   
-a flawless flat run               6 % (46 votes)

Sounds like we'll be seeing some spine 360-s and tailwhips at the dirt jumps this summer.

Got the new issue in the office the middle of last week. We totally slacked on getting on here, though. Please accept our sincere appology. It will never, ever, ever, ever happen again...until it happens again.

This is my third attempt of doing a review on RIDEBMX's March issue. In fact, we've received the April issue already (in February) so we won't be spending too much time on the issue which has Blackman on the cover. It's actually a pretty dark cover for a California based magazine so let's hope for them it doesn't hurt the newsstands sales. 124 pages of RIDEBMX bring you: Letters, News and short articles in Up Front (i.e. the Braun Flatground comp in Amsterdam) which are fun to read. Smokey and the Bandit (Ryan Sher) takes care of the Pro Q&A and Tom Haugen shows his music preference. The Spot Check is about SoCal's Sheep Hills and yes, I also wanted to check that place out (and did). Then and Now: Jay Miron. Private Property: The Seventies Ramps in Hastings, England fuckin' eh right! Products on page 54 include The House axles, Berringer bar taps, FBM hub guard, 1664 pedals, Kink integrated headset, Drive lite forks and a Mosh belt.

The final round of the European BMX indoor series took place in Zwolle, The Netherlands over the weekend. The track actually had big and steep berms and the jumps were decent too for a temporary track. In Junior Men, Martijn Scherpen (Netherlands) doubled while in Elite men it was Holland's Raymon van de Biezen who won on Saturday. Manuel de Vecchi (Italy) scored most points in Elite men with a 2nd on Saturday and a win on Sunday.

Breaking a femur is no joke. Just ask Brandon Meadows who recently snapped his for the second time. New victim to the injury list is HARO's AA pro Jason Richardson who crashed badly at the ABA Sooner National in Guthrie and broke the big bone.

J-Rich was choppered to the hospital where his rehab starts. It might be a while before Jason starts pedaling again and we wish him a speedy recovery.

After the big success of the first Battle in da Club which took place in Stuttgart (club Zapata), Flo Sailer and crew are proud to present the second round!

It´s the beginning of the first tour in the German Flatland history. All German and Austrian riders - who are invited or voted to come to the battles - are part of the new BidC-ranking-system. We`ll always have 18 German participants and 6 international riders. In 2006 the BidC-tour will rule 3 German cities. Next stop is Munich on March 11^th  2006  (club Feierwerk).

Flo Sailer: “Our intention is to establish this tour and organize 6 battles per year. The Club-concept allows us to present Flatland to a different audience and show it on its best behaviour. German riders should get the chance to assert themselves as pro´s. Furthermore they should have the comparison with the international world class. Currently we have 1000€ price money at each battle. We hope to get bigger support in the future to boost the price money and support the riders as much as possible.”

You recently switched from Macneil to Volume. How hard was it to make that decision?
it really wasn't that hard, Jay and I had long talks about the future for me and it seemed that I might fit a little better over at Volume now. Don't get me wrong I think I did fit well on Macneil in the beginning but I just think things changed and I think I need to do something different now. Jay and all the guys out at Macneil/Tenpack and I still get along great and there are no hard feelings....I want to add that kids think that I did this move for money.....I make the exact same over at Volume that I did at Macneil. The only difference is I have room to move up at Volume.
