The best tables in the business come from Vic Murphy. It got him plenty of magazine covers including one on FAT-'zine. He started DirtBros in a time when rider owned companies didn't exist. Skyway TA frames with Redline forks is what it was back then. Painted white with black DirtBros stickers slapped on them. A company was born. The name Dirtbros was a good fit. Riders on the team were dirtbags and rode at Mission trails most of the time. Their home was the Dirthouse in East San Diego where the sound of firing guns wasn't uncommon. Ronnie Farmer felt right at home. Street sessions were taking place on a daily basis. They started at the Dirthouse and everything within pedaling distance was hit. Schools on University street or everything on their way to the Pelican wall downtown SD. Fast pace at all times too. Fast forward fifteen years and Vic is doing BMX shows with a passion and travels all over the USA to spread the word. Take a few minutes to watch the movie of Vic at work. DBI or Die.

Guettler: I’m 23 years old and I live in Greenville, NC most the year but go home to Australia in November and come back here in March.

3. What made you start riding bmx?

Imagine if every NBL member recruited just one new rider this year. Local programs would get a huge boost and thousands of new riders would be hitting the track, raising the level of competition across the nation. The 2007 NBL Bring-A-Buddy Program has been designed to do just that and more than $50,000 in prizing will keep recruiters and NBL tracks working hard to recruit new ‘buddies’ throughout the spring and summer.

We've landed at the FISE contest in Montpellier, France. It's not quite summer yet and we even had a little rain this morning but things are looking good for the next few days. And not only weather wise. Gary Young has arrived and had a bit of a jet lag. The Mirraco team riders (Mirra, Spinner, Laird) and also Daniel Dhers are stuck in New York but will arrive tomorrow. 10 English riders (a.o. Webb, Wallace, Surridge, Miller, Watkinson, Aller, Hennon, Yates) have made it across the pond and so has Matt Fairbairn from Australia.

On April 4 the AST Dew Tour announced the complete 2007 Free Flow Tour schedule. The Free Flow Tour is the official amateur series of the AST Dew Tour and provides amateur athletes the prospect for professional sponsorship and recognition by the pros. The Free Flow Tour kicks off June 2 in Dallas, Texas and will cross the country hitting all of the hot-spots within the action sports scene. In 2007, the Free Flow Tour will expand to include 18 BMX 

On Saturday 19 May the FBMX crew are getting ready for the seventh annual Bicycle Film Festival at 32 second Avenue in New York City. The FBM Promo and Grounded Video premiere is in the afternoon at 1:30, and then the Bunnyhop comp, outside the theatre... should be fun.
