Adrenaline Alley is a large indoor skatepark and urban sport venue,
managed as a charity through a board of directors. With a growing National and International reputation, Adrenaline Alley has some inspirational plans for the future, already boasting world class facilities. Adrenaline Alley is looking for a committed and passionate individual to lead the expansion of its events programme, delivering a range of local, regional, national and international opportunities both within and beyond urban sport. This will be a high profile event programme, showcasing the best of urban sport to the UK. Adrenaline Alley is also dedicated to the role urban sport plays in the community, and increasing participation at the facility will be a key component of your role. You will spearhead our events and competition programme, placing Adrenaline Alley at the pinnacle of urban sport worldwide. You will work alongside professional riders to ensure the best possible environment for competition, and work with our operations managers to enable smooth running of the facility during competitions and events. You will also work within the local community to build on relationships with our key partners, aiming to increase participation at the facility amongst key priority groups.
You will need:
• To be educated to ‘A’ Level standard or vocational equivalent with experience of event management, ideally within the sport or active recreation sector.
• Sports development experience at the participation level.
• An ability to lead key areas of work and work proactively on your own initiative.
• An ability to work within a staff team and alongside our board of directors.
• A flexible approach to work and an ability to inspire just about anybody, from the local community to our key stakeholders!

Purpose of Role: To work on behalf of Adrenaline Alley to increase participation at the facility, particularly amongst the most underrepresented sections of the community and those participating least in sport, physical activity and active recreation. In addition, to increase the number and quality of urban sport and community events and competitions staged at the facility, utilising these as a catalyst to further increase participation. |
Key Areas of Responsibility: - Working with our key partners, and utilising local networks and infrastructure outside of the facility, identify and engage with the sections of the local community currently participating least in sport, physical activity and active recreation, making use of findings extracted from Sport England’s Active People Survey.
- Continue to engage with these identified population segments, exploring ways in which Adrenaline Alley could become more accessible and more conducive to encouraging participation within these communities.
- By overviewing all provision at Adrenaline Alley, both within the key urban sport disciplines and other types of user provision, make recommendations on how to expand our portfolio of activities to better attract identified sections of the community and increase thereby participation.
- Work with the staff team at Adrenaline Alley, both through training sessions and generalised daily business, to increase awareness of the factors affecting participation, additionally working to put into place suitable changes in provision that aim to increase both overall participation, and in particular by those sections of the community identified as underrepresented and currently participating least.
- Using existing data management systems within Adrenaline Alley, monitor and track participation trends, using the outcomes to guide further work in increasing participation at the facility.
- Where appropriate, devise new methods of collecting participation data for Adrenaline Alley, particularly looking towards more qualitative information that will add value to our understanding of how to increase participation in urban sport at Adrenaline Alley.
- Use innovative communication and marketing solutions, both locally and further a field, designed to reach targeted populations and communities.
- Use innovative communication and marketing solutions to increase understanding of and make urban sport more attractive to a wider range of both young people and adults.
- Work up to international level with a multitude of key individuals, companies, organisations and National Governing Bodies to attract appropriate events to Adrenaline Alley, using the scope of our existing international standard facilities.
- Work with appropriate staff members and board directors to source effective sponsorship deals for urban sport events at Adrenaline Alley.
- Utilise Adrenaline Alley’s already well-established partnerships with professional urban sport athletes to both attract events to the facility, and to obtain guidance on operational aspects of urban sport event management.
- Work with the staff team and Board of Directors at Adrenaline Alley to advise and provide expertise on the operational requirements for event attraction, development and staging.
- Support the staff team at Adrenaline Alley in the actual staging of events.
- Use innovative communication and marketing solutions up to an international level to ensure the best success for events at Adrenaline Alley.
