How long did it take for you to find the right location?
Peter Geys: We were looking for a private house to buy and than we saw a place for sale, it was a private house, working place, showroom and a warehouse! Perfect! We signed the papers in Jan 2008, rebuilt a little, and we could open the shop in april 2008!
You seem to have found a perfect spot with warehouse possibities, shop window, repair shop, simming pool and space to build trails and put your vert ramp up. Are you happy the way it came out?
Peter Geys: We are very happy, it’s a dream …
What brands do you carry in your shop?
Peter Geys: Odyssey, Haro, Premium, S&M, Fit, Snafu, Simple bikes, Wethepeople, … We have also regular bikes, because there was no bike shop in town for many years. It gives us more stability in our business. Also the people in town are very happy with the shop.
Do you see more mailorder business compared to the shop visits?
Peter Geys: More shop visits
What are the plans with the facility (ramp/jumps) in the back?
Peter Geys: We have to wait for the Licence! But we want to build an indoor park asap and we don’t need a licence for that.
You also put on BMX events, does that help with the promotion of the 900 shop?
Peter Geys: The event in Hasselt will be the First since we’ve opened the shop, so we will see.
Explain the name of the shop a little to those who don't know where it comes from?
Peter Geys: It’s quite simple, I pulled a 900° 3 years ago in England/ Nottingham.
What's the shop location?
Peter Geys: A little town in Belgium: Eksel (Overpelterbaan 7)
Can people just show and ride in the back?
Peter Geys: That was the plan, but we have to wait for the licence.
