each line and use big screens to show the full line of each. The BMX TV will be showing the bike line, some Scotty Cranmer videos and a just “dropped” Josh Betley edit. Pretty happy about the new line, cool colors, sprockets getting smaller, bars getting bigger and bikes getting simpler and lighter. Sorry our bikes still have those things that make you stop.
-Any special activities going on at the booth during the show? Scotty Cranmer and Josh Betley will be hanging out as well as some of our Tour de France and Olympic “adult” bike riders.
-How many people are going to help out in your booth during the show? I’ll guess in the 20-30 people range.
-Are you actually taking orders at the show or is it more to show products to the dealers and get contacts? Yes, the goal is to get orders but the real facts are that our 09 line launched a few weeks ago and some shops already have their orders in. I would hope we would pick up a few more dealers.
-Would you think a contest at Interbike would be a good idea since loads of people (industry/riders/media) are there already? Yes, it would be cool and it would give riders more of a reason to come. Big problem would be that after being on your feet all day I do not think many would go to a night time contest and during the day everyone is busy doing business. So yes, it would be cool for the riders but I do not think the industry guys would have a chance to check it out. A huge part of the IB crowd doesn’t give a hoot about BMX so it would be cool to be inside the show somehow to grab the attention of some of these “adult” shops to show what kids can actually do on a bike.
-What party are you looking forward to? The Nora Cup has become the big BMX shin dig, I have a great time every year catching up with some old friends, I just dread the next morning…. I just hope Bodo [Hellwig] can get in this year.
