T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds’ Dirt Session proudly presents all of its seeded riders on April 20th in a special event at the ‘Kraftzentrale of Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord’. Ten international top stars of both the BMX and the Mountainbike scene have already confirmed their appearance. Among the hot tips are BMX heroes like Ryan Nyquist, Kye Forte and Tobias Wicke. The last chance to qualify for this prestigious action sports event is T-Mobiles Local Support Dirt Challenge on March 15th taking place at ‘Abflughalle Grevenbroich’. The Dirt Sessions live music line-up is also completed. Londons Brit-Pop hot shot Jack Peñate just joined the bill that already features Germanys Sportfreunde Stiller and Punkrock-legends Millencolin as main acts. MTV and T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds have prolonged their partnership. The TV station will cover the finals and Sportfreunde Stillers performance live, starting at 8 P.M. on April 20th! 

It’s the third year of the T-Mobile Local Support program and it continues to support the BMX community in Germany. This year’s highlights are again the Local Support Challenges. They start at the Abflughalle Grevenbroich with the Local Support Dirt Challenge on March 15. There will be a MTB & BMX Dirt Jump contest with separate MTB & BMX competitions as well as separate Pro & Amateur judging.

Because Local Support is still working with the idea of supporting you and your spot, the contest will be a team challenge. Every spot will send out two guys who ride as one team to win the trophy. Each of the winning BMX & MTB pro teams will receive spot support in the amount of € 4.000. The winning Amateur team gets a multi-paged report in the Freedom BMX Magazine. Of course there will be more prizes, including a BBQ Party, waiting for the other teams. 

Some parks don't allow BMX all the time. Skateland in Rotterdam is one of them. But this Saturday it's time to shred because the park is open to BMX-ers only. No pegs allowed for those who want to ride the ramps but the flatland riders can leave their axle pegs on. Here are the details:

BMX is alive Belgium: the number of riders is on the up, the level is increasing fast and the Belgian scene can be found abroad at regular intervals to show that she is a force to be reckoned with. There’s only one problem: young BMXers miss a suitable spot where they can practice their sport.
But now, thanks to Red Bull Backyard Digger, these youngsters can construct their own – legal – dirtspot in their town or even in their own backyard.

Having RedBull as a sponsor is a big plus for any rider. RedBull does cool stuff. They send riders to exotic places (Corey Bohan and Corey Martinez went to Fiji for a photoshoot and got to surf too) and they do some crazy stuff (like renting a plane from the UK to go see the X-Fighters in Spain. Ask Bas Keep about that one). At RedBull events they try to entertain the crew with Go-Karting, bowling, MTB-ing, Q-sar, simply fun stuff. Edwin Delarosa recently spent some time in the snow where he's boaring with Tyrone WIlliams and Aaron Chase.

As you might've heard, Paul Roberts got married on the 5th of February under the pier in Huntington Beach, California. As it was a Tuesday wedding, the kick off time was 4pm. Which gave everyone plenty of reason to get drinking fairly early. Ryan (Guettler) was the last minute wedding photographer and it made him run around a bit crazy, until he got his booze on, so after that the camera was put away for good reasons... 

This is the third and final part of the POW story that Chris Moeller wrote in 1994 and never got published until now. We're stoked he wanted to share it with FATBMX as the stories from the house bring back memories to all who have ever stepped foot inside. Lots of things change in 14 years and it sounds that everyone involved is doing fine. It was rough back in the day, especially at the POW house. Read on......
