It was a heavy BMX week all because of the Simpel Session in Tallinn. I'm not sure but I think it was my 5th time in Estonia and I always look forward in going back. The Simpel Session rocked once again and apart from a few people getting injured and a hole in the hotel wall (grow up kids), it was nothing but good news.

Four members of the UGP BMX team will be featured on the Tuesday, Feb. 5th episode of FUEL TV’s “The Daily Habit,” which will air at 6 p.m. PST/9 p.m. EST and again that night at 9 p.m. PST/12 a.m. EST. Chad DeGroot, Adam Baker, James Foster and Mark Mulville join host Pat Parnell in the studio to talk about BMX road trips, “Anchor Man” Halloween costumes, appearing on the Jerry Springer show and all of their latest projects. The guys also tear up the set with some tricky on-camera maneuvers. The UGP team riders who will be featured on the show include:

James Foster - An up-and-coming pro dirt jumper known for his triple tail whip who made it to nearly every Dew Tour final this year
Chad DeGroot – A pioneering freestyler and the UGP team

We're not done with the Simpel Session reports yet. In fact, we just started as we're bringing you day one of the party life. Paparazzi in full effect here on FATBMX. Pim, Paul and I were looking for a place to eat on the night we arrived and ended up at TGI Friday. Bad choice so soon after we were looking for a few drinks. We walked through the old town in the direction of our annual BMX hangout "Club Hollywood". We knew we would run into people there but it was still early (11pm) so we decided to step into this pub which had some flyers on the door.

What can you possibly write when you all have seen the live footage of the Simpel Session in Tallinn, Estonia. Even the long qualification rounds were shown live on the internet and it did take a while to get everything finished. Due to a late start (skateboarding ran an hour late) the BMX qualifiers ran till 10pm, exactly an hour behind schedule. This was not a problem for anyone as the riders yet to come were of high caliber. In fact, there was not an easy group and the riders showed great talent. 

The idea of the Red Bull Dirt Pipe contest is to create the world's first dirt half pipe for BMX, creating a 120m long half pipe, similar to a snowboard half pipe in shape and size, made from dirt.

The pipe will have an in-run and be cut into a sloped hill to ensure riders maintain good speed. This will allow riders to concentrate on big, dynamic, tricks, while adding in some kickers to spice the runs up.
