The Braun Front Brake Revolution recently took place on the South Coast of England. The event was the first of its kind to focus on technical front brake riding and attracted riders from around the globe to sunny Dorset, for 3 days of mind-blowing tech BMX.
There were too many highlights to mention but Senad Grosic springs to mind (the guy is a machine). Adam Banton, Anthony Pill, Christoph Huber & Rob Ridge shredded the whole weekend, and some unknown riders turned up and blew everyone away with some seriously innovative stuff.
Names to look out for in the near future include: Anthony Pearson (every toothpick/nosepick variation imaginable) and Neil Keddie.
The DVD and TV show are now in Post Production, being of a documentary style and focusing on the event and the riders who took part. The DVD will include rider Bios for Adam Banton, Anthony Pill, Ben Foakes, Christoph Huber, Senad Grosic, Rob Ridge, Mike O’Connell + rider sections from the rest of the crew.
Available from CHILLI VIDEO; mid November 2004.
RESULTS/POST COMP INFO:
We ran the event with a ‘true’ Jam format, no 2-minute runs, no pressure and no crowd pleasers! Good tricks were rewarded with cash prizes all round, all weekend.
The result was a rider-focused weekend, where riders could direct all their time and energy into pulling super hard tech moves and combos.
The riders and BMX Industry guests judged the overall weekend winner on Sunday night.
Highlights were:
- Senad Grosic: Cross Footed tailwhip nosepick to cross-footed landing
- Adam Banton: 180 Tailwhip – Fakie over the jump box
- Rob Ridge: Double tailwhip 360 nosepick over the spine ramp!!
WINNER: ROB RIDGE (UK)
Bio: Rob Ridge has been riding for over 20 years and it shows when you see him on a BMX bike. The guy is phenomenal. He personally built the Trick Factory Skatepark where the event took place on Sunday 12th September.
After building ramps late into the nights leading up to the big day, Rob managed to destroy the course and was consequently voted as winner of the Braun Front Brake Revolution 2004.
ENTERTAINMENT:
The After party (organised by Jasmine O’Brien) was a great success. Guest star DJ Tigerstyle (Technics DMC World Champion) tore up the Tickled Hippy club in Weymouth until the early hours alongside his Beatbox ‘E:wandan’. Also on the decks; David Morgan played an awesome set keeping the riders, guests and locals happy.
Thanks to all sponsors and friends who put time. money and energy into this, our first year!
