It's kind of hard to judge the distance of the jumps when you're going down hill but it seems that not a lot of riders had problems clearing the big sets. What you do see is that not everyone is able to trick every set and there are some big sets that do not get jumped a lot so there is still room for improvement. We've witnessed some transfers between the lines on top which are ridiculous. It's actually so nice to watch these riders go off and they're all having a good time. The Red Bull girls in the golf carts keep bringing them back to the top all day long and once they're at the starting platform, there's a line of riders fighting to get the next run in. The top section is pretty tech with some jumps going into a 180 degree bowled (oververt) turn that takes you to a double, then a hip jump and 2 big sets before hitting the S-turn. Skidding into the S-turn is Brian Foster's favorite part of the track. It's little things like this that makes the course good. Magilla and crew did an awesome job. After the S-turn there's a step down that does not require any pedaling. The last set is huge and we'll be seeing big tricks on this set. On top there is a possibility to take another route that leads you to two big sets but it wasn't used that much in practice. With 30 degree temperatures today and a full sun, it was hot but drinks and food were provided all day for the riders and media. The right treatment once again. The photos shown do not do the size of the jumps justice. You need to stand next to them to really size them up. Anyway, enjoy the pics for now. Riders meeting is in a few moments, then it's dinner time and let's see where the party takes us tonight. The goodie bags came with a bottle of Jack Daniels so the party will be on for some. If not tonight, tomorrow. Stay tuned on FATBMX for more on the Elevation dirt comp.
