How many weekends/days were you away from home and at a BMX jam/contest or on tour?
Nick Bruce: I think roughly 16 weekends? I'm sure there are more, because that doesn't sound like much. It felt like I was only home for a couple of weeks at a time each month haha.
What was the best event you went to this year that gets your vote?
Nick Bruce: The UCI BMX Freestyle Urban World Championships. It truly brought a different atmosphere into BMX than what we are used to. Seeing all of the riders representing the country they're from together & it truly painted a big picture of how large BMX is all over this world & I found that amazing.
What contest placing were you stoked on this year?
Nick Bruce: 1st place for the X-Games BMX Park qualifier. Felt amazing knowing that I was going to compete in the X-Games. The 9 year-old boy inside of me was completely astounded hahah.
What trick/move were you happy to pull for the first time this year?
Nick Bruce: Barrel Roll Triple Tailwhip at the X-Games during BMX Dirt finals.
What BMX move stands out the most to you that somebody did this year?

Nick Bruce: My blue TotalBMX bike, of course!
Who had the best video/video-part that stuck out to you?
Nick Bruce: Still buzzing over the Mongoose jam videos that were filmed at Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania. All of them, but mainly Team Paul Ryan's & Greg Illingworth's videos.
What was your worst injury in 2017?
Nick Bruce: Well, the only injury of 2017 which happened last week, a broken collarbone!
Worst thing that happened while you’re on the road?
Nick Bruce: Eh, after FISE Montpellier. Colton Walker & I had a 20 hour layover in Berlin. We thought we booked a hotel, but it was a hostel that was nearly impossible to find. Long story short, we found it & it was closed so with jet lag in our favor, we explored the city all night & it was badass.
How many flat tires did you have the past 12 months?
Nick Bruce: Literally only 6! 4 of them were within the past 2 months though hahah.
Best meal you had?
Nick Bruce: This Lentil Sweet Potato Shepherds Pie that I just made last night, so damn tasty!
Best party you visited in 2017?
Nick Bruce: I don't really party, but since it was the only party I attended... My buddy's bachelor party in Savannah, Georgia during St. Patrick's Day got crazy lol.
Raddest person you got to hang out with this year?
Nick Bruce: Colton Walker, I travel and room with him the most. He's an incredible dude on and off the bike and I love him like a brother.
Best thing you saw in 2017?
Nick Bruce: It might sound dramatic, but honestly being able to see everyday as a new opportunity to do what I love & things that excite me the most.
Plans for 2018?
Nick Bruce: Same as 2017! Travel, ride, train, compete, eat, read books, learn, see family & friends: repeat!
