The dirt course consists of a series of hipped jumps unlike last years straight in a row set. Mike "Hucker" Clark's nose dive 360's are like nobody else's and he also went for a double flip attempt. Corey Bohan looked really, really dialled throwing in a series of combo tricks. Tim "Fuzzy" Hall built the course and pulled a 1 footed can backflip lander. 720-s were pulled by Guettler (1st), Nyquist (4th) and MacKay (10th) and it's good to have Stephen Murray back in the finals. His clean 360 flip helped him get there (6th). Dew tour leader Anthony Napolitan squeezed in in the last second and will have to do well to keep his lead because Luke Parslow is on fire these days.

San Jose is the 10th largest city in America with people driving cars fueled by vegetable oil. This can only be the Bay Area where the Toyota Challenge leg of the Mountain Dew Tour is being held. Watching vert practice and prelims it's clear that the final tomorrow will be between the king of smoothness Bestwick and Chad Kagy. Both looked really good and in control. Simon Tabron, Jimmy Walker and Tom Haugen also looked good and will be fighting for the last spot on the podium.

Ok so I shouldn't be putting this as the beginning; let's face it, it could have been left out but I have to be honest with you ­ I was livid that I had to work the same weekend as the Nottinghill Carnival, Reading festival and a mates party in Leicester but hey that comes with the territory of organising jams. I have to say though that I'm now sitting here eating my own words with a huge slice of humble pie for desert because Bristol was INCREDIBLE!!!! I have never been to Motion before so I was glad we popped in on the Saturday to check out the park and instantly loved the atmosphere. It was clean, fresh and friendly and although it is compact, the space is really well used to ensure smooth lines.

After watching a cross footed flip over the box and some of the riders launch themselves into the foam pit, which sparked a major shoe search, we left the park for the hotel ready to sample the Bristol night life.

The flatland in Brazil demonstrates great evolution. Currently some athletes compete in international tests with excellent results. In 2006 happens de first national championship with 40 participants, organized for Confederação Brasileira de Ciclismo (CBC) with promotion of the specialized site BMX Press . The number of practitioners of the modality grew significantly and they call the attention the media. “Finally we popularize the sport”, says Gustavo Dias, director of CBC. Dias also commemorates the increase in the number of sponsors. “To invest in flat, currently, offers financial return”, he affirms. With the consolidation of the modality, the CBC decided to demonstrate its social responsibility. 

This year's LG Tour stop in Paris was way better than last year, the street course was a bit better and the Vert ramp was the same but the riders made it a better contest than last year.
Street/Park: Although a very small street course it was still fun to ride, it was so tight that Dave Dillewaard looked bigger than the park but managed to win the first price again. More riders showed up this time and we even had 5 Dutch guys in prelims, Barry Kohne didn't impress the judges this time, Mark Vos showed he is a good rider but not in contests, Daniel Wedemeijer rode well and Pim v/d Bos was the best from the Dutch with a 12th place, just missing the finals with his dialed Front & Back & Tail whips.

Axel Juergens, Senad Grosic and Ben Shenker were in Croatia last weekend for the Pannonian Challenge 7. Once again they had a great time and everyone rode great.

-Axel did barrels, 3whips, and treetaps for 3rd place.
-Senad did flipwhips, hang5s, and a 5whip to a bank; 2nd.
-Ben Shenker did no-hand flips, manuals on the wallride, fufanus on backrails and finished first.

Just so you know.

When was the last time that the vert contest had more entries than the street contest at the same event?  With Jann Valenta and Steve McCann dropping out, the vert contest in Berlin in front of the Brandenburger Tor still had 15 riders on the decks.  With the vert prelims getting rained out it was straight to the finals.  2 runs each, best run counts.  John Parker and  Peter Geys both only managed to pull off one run and left the ramp injured.  Parker in fact was still injured coming into the event with a fractured hand. He had not taken his bike out of the box since the previous LG event in England and gave it a try anyways.  Peter Geys left the ramp with a hurt shoulder but had his wife  and the kids there to treat him right. 

Tim Eichert's second run was cut short when he  strangely crashed going up the ramp. It bent his bike. Tim's first run was good though as he pulled the smoothest flair I've ever seen him do and did 540-s and one-hand 540-s.
