Be ready for action in July 2013! At the SNIPES BMX Worlds presented by Monster Energy, thousands of fans will flock to Cologne to see the top international stars of the BMX scene live for the 29th time in a row. For one whole weekend, from July 12 to 14, the sport city of Cologne will be the center of the BMX sport world. Around 400 pros and amateurs from all over the world will come to the Jugendpark at the Zoo Bridge, in order to show what they can do in the disciplines of Dirt, Park, Street, Flatland and Vert. And not just the men will strut their stuff in the five disciplines. The BMX Girls will also prove their skills on the second weekend in July. BMX competitions have been carried out in the Cologne Jugendpark for 29 years, and since their first appearance in 1994, the SNIPES BMX Worlds have become a recurring guest in the Cologne sports calendar. The event is one of the biggest and most important BMX competitions in the world.
The organizing team of the official BMX Freestyle World Championships hopes for a lot of sunshine, so that nothing will be in the way of a spectacular show for about 12,000 fans. And the BMX community won't only be offered pro and amateur sports. There will be a big program with all kinds of action and parties to make the SNIPES BMX Worlds a very special event.
“Cologne has a set place in the BMX scene. The participants enjoy the fantastic atmosphere and the perfect service,” said longtime organiser Stephan Prantl. “Plus our parties are legendary.” Everyone can look forward to a great weekend with spectacular tricks and breathtaking jumps.
The streetwear firm “SNIPES” stands for urban youth culture and after a long-time partnership, appears this year as title sponsor for the event. In addition, “Monster Energy” will also be a presenting partner for the SNIPES BMX Worlds in 2013. The energy-drink producer has been rooted in action sport for many years.
