The team ran Mirra and Way at the recent World RX Media Day in Barcelona, where the guys had their very first go in the supercharged MINI, trying their hand at dominating the world-famous Circuit de Catalunya.
JRM Executive Director, James Rumsey, said: "Dave and Danny watched the development of World RX in 2014 and were hugely impressed. They want to be part of the series in the future so Hockenheim is a good event for them to get a feel for the series and our MINI. We hope there will be an opportunity to run them both on more rounds in 2015, with the goal of pulling together a full-season programme in 2016.”
Mirra and Way are global superstars in BMX, stunt riding and skateboarding respectively. But both men have previous experience in rallycross having contested various events in the US, Europe and the UK. Mirra, a former factory Subaru rally driver in the USA and a regular in the Global Rallycross series said: “World RX looks awesome and I’m thrilled to get a shot at Hockenheim with JRM Racing. It’s going to be a steep learning curve because the quality of the competition is hot, but I’ve never done anything at less than 150% in my career and I love the MINI RX. I’m hoping we can have a good weekend.”
Way added: “Our goal is to try and put a full programme of events together for 2016, but we need some good World RX experience this year to help take things forward. Hockenheim looks like it’s going to be fantastic and I’m excited to be a part of the action.”
