Hong Kong presented a photo show by Mike O’Meally to showcase Vans’ rich history in skateboarding. Toronto brought forth Vans pro athletes for a skate demo within a pop-up House of Vans skatepark, boasting a replica of the iconic Venice Beach pit ledges and House of Vans London hosted screen printing and a heat press workshop for guests to take home their own piece of Vans customization.
To top off the enthralling global House of Vans experience, guests reveled in the sounds of a genre-diverse selection of musical talent including punk rock, hip-hop, indie and electronic, all which represent Vans’ one-of-a-kind music aesthetic. Nas, Dinosaur Jr., Wu-Tang Clan, The Kills, Erykah Badu, Jamie xx, Dizzee Rascal, Yeasayer, Shlohmo and many local musical acts electrified the crowds for an “Off The Wall” night that will go down in history.
These events are just the beginning as Vans looks to expand the House of Vans experience around the world to further cement Vans’ dedication to fostering creative expression through action sports, art, music and street culture. Throughout 2016, Vans will host a variety of activations including skateboarding demos, music events, interactive design workshops and art installations within the House of Vans, all to continue to encourage the creative communities that have supported Vans for the past 50 years and that will continue to support Vans for years to come.
