General Admission (GA) are $20 through April 1. Tickets are $25 at the gate (if available). Extreme Thing also is home to Vegas Am Jam, an amateur extreme sports competition. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., local riders can participate in a variety of categories including BMX Advanced, Skateboard Advanced, Skateboard Jr. Jam, BMX Jr. Jam, Skateboard Intermediate, BMX Intermediate, Scooter Beginner, Scooter Intermediate and Scooter Advanced. Entry is $10 per registration, per category and is available by signing up at Hollywood Community Center, Desert Breeze Community Center or the Sunset Park Admin Building. Day of event registration is available on a first come, first serve basis. A helmet is mandatory to compete in Am Jam and all other safety equipment is strongly encouraged. Additional extreme sports demonstrations and interactive games will be available throughout the day for festival-goers including live wrestling by Extreme Ring Action, laser tag by Sharp Shooter, an escape room by Combat Zone, orbiter, “American Ninja Warrior”-inspired obstacle course from Camp Rhino and much more.
For the first time, Extreme Thing will feature a beer garden. Adults 21+ must purchase admission to the VIP beer garden where they can sit back and relax at one of the tables and chairs in the area and enjoy a cold one. Access is limited and patrons are encouraged to buy admission wristbands in advance. Beer is not included with purchase of entry to the garden. Upgraded beer garden “Ticket & Tee” packages are available online only and include event ticket, beer garden admission, commemorative t-shirt and poster for $50. Beer garden access is available for $35 if festival ticket is already purchased.
Things to Know for Attendees:
The layout for Extreme Thing has changed for 2016 and all festival-goers are instructed to enter Desert Breeze Park from the west, off of Durango Drive. Passenger pick up and drop off will be located off of Spring Mountain Road, just east of Durango Drive. Parking is limited in the area and festival-goers are encouraged to carpool or use Uber or Lyft.
One personal “factory sealed” bottle of water can be brought to the festival along with still cameras and sunscreen. There will be plenty of ATMs on site with an array of food vendors available, along with beverages. Animals, coolers, weapons and chairs are not permitted.
