Creation of UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup. Collaboration between UCI and Hurricane Action Sports.
BMX Freestyle Park is now a recognised cycling discipline, certified by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world governing body for cycling recognised by the International Olympic Committee. The launch of the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup in 2016 is the result of great collaboration between the UCI and FISE and will also be the springboard for the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, planned for 2017, that will include BMX Freestyle Park, Mountain Bike Cross Country Eliminator (XCE) and Trials. The integration of BMX Freestyle Park is great news for cycling and the UCI. Hurricane, our partner, will bring its renowned knowledge and skills in terms of event organization. The UCI will bring the discipline high-level recognition and will keep pushing to develop the sport while answering a great demand from BMX fans. With this initiative, BMX Freestyle Park and cycling are reaching a new milestone in their pursuit of worldwide recognition.
(Brian Cookson, President, UCI)
It’s with a ton of enthusiasm that we partner with UCI for the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup organisation within the FISE World Series. This partnership is based on common values and is done with huge respect for the way FISE has been representing the discipline for the last 20 years. This collaboration will allow the acceleration of the development of freestyle disciplines and we are proud to contribute, along with UCI, to this new step in the BMX evolution.

New Presenting Partner Honor
Honor, part of the Huawei group, is a smartphone brand dedicated to the young. Only available online, the brand was created to fill the needs of ‘digital natives’, with products created and optimized for web usage. Offering a unique and dynamic experience that promotes creativity, Honor combines the latest technologies with innovation at an attractive price. Honor, for the brave. FISE and Honor Partnership delivers positivity and energy to the young This ‘brave’ cooperation began in 2014 when Honor sponsored FISE’s debut in Chengdu, China. The event’s iconic 5-meter-high Honor loop was a crowd favourite and demonstrated perfectly the union between technology and sport. The 3-day event attracted 100,000+ people and in 2015 attendance increased a further 50%. From single event sponsor to single stop sponsor to a comprehensive partnership in just two years, this win-win partnership has resulted in the globalisation of both the Honor phone and the Honor bracelet which has helped develop the lives of many action sports athletes. Last year, Honor cooperated with Chinese motocross rider Zhang Zhiyong (2015 amateur FISE champion) in shooting the short film Honor Young Pi which promoted a brave, positive and individual lifestyle.
