- The BMX track at the UCI training facility in Switzerland was being completely re-done. Before the dozers took the track down UCI's own BMX coordinator Johan Lindstrom got a chance the jump the pro doubles on his YZ motorcycle. At least he can say he jumped the doubles! No worries, a new track is being built and also some BMX trails will be added.
- Ruben Alcantara's prototype Terrible One frame is out now. It features the Spanish bottom bracket and will be put to the test in a few days. Dave Mirra is riding a 2005 prototype Mirra Pro frame that looks a bit like a T-1. It will most likely come with a Spanish BB as well (mid-sized at least).
- The SPLIT team won the "PIG" contest at Woodward West. Ryan Nyquist and Colin MacKay had the biggest bags of tricks and beat various other teams in the "for TV" contest. That's all we know at this point.
- Alex Rankin at 4130 publishing in the UK is finishing up the NoFrontTeeth video. There are five rider sections, contests from 2003, the DC Trails Tour, random jam sections which are nuts, tons of good stuff. It’ll be about 45 minutes long with a bunch of DVD extras, and a rocking soundtrack from Tim March. The video was premiered at Bike 2004 at a pub in Birmingham.
- Cory "Nasty" Nastazio was involved in a terrible car accident and was in hospital with a collapsed lung and a hemorrhage on one side of his brain. Unfortunately Cory wasn't driving the big Benz as it would have given him some better protection than the Civic he was driving when he hit a tree. Cory was in the car by himself and on his way to ride some trails. Cause of accident is unknown.
- Christophe Huber is making things work for himself to live off a BMX job. He has started a distribution company (Unity Distribution), does the MPS stuff, does video work and is currently finishing up the Dragonfly video.
- How many people do fit in Marco Des Isola's mini van: A: 5, B: 7, or C: 14? C is correct!
- Clicked finally have a website up at www.clickedvideo.co.uk so check it out! James and Tom at Retribution have been great in helping Steve B. on the design / website front. Clicked are also starting a Clothing line called Clicked Designs and the team is Mark Webb, Steve Bartholomew, Josh Elkington, Ollie Smith and Dan Collier. Get your copy of Clicked 08 when you subscribe to DIG.
- HDT might have quit the website but look at this ride!!
- GP MX star Josh Coppins is sponsored by Stolen BMX bikes.
- David Marconi from New Zealand is now getting flow from wethepeople through triplesix. There are also a couple of sound guys in Puerto Rico aboard fresh Div frames. Brian Terada will be making his debut appearance on the wethepeople roadtrip through Italy.
- Recently BULLY Bikes team riders, David Healy and Jimmy Hale, were asked to help in the filming of a TV show shown in Elementary School Classrooms. The show, called "ESPN Sportsfigures", uses practical examples of physics to help explain the theories to the students. Part of the show was filmed with Co-Host Dave Mirra in Greenville and the other parts in were shot at Brian Picolo Skatepark in Cooper City, Florida. Good times were had.
- It didn't take TIP Plus long to replace the departure of Greg Walsh. Glenn P.P. Milligan, former BMX video producer at TransWorld Media, has taken up the job. Milligan’s new position will be as marketing brand manager for TIP, as well as team manager for Primo. After finishing up 14 videos in 4 years for the Transworld crew "PP" will have to deal with different deadlines from now on.
- We want to wish Bill Bryant good luck. He has now entered Iraq with the US Army.
- HARO Europe's Ben Shenker had a bad crash trying a flipwhip in the UK. He'll be out for a few months with a snapped fibia and torn ligaments. He's been operated upon but won't be on his bike for a while. Get well soon Ben.
- Scott Timmins made it on the Neighbours TV show. Well, sort of.
- Former Mosh team rider and brand manager Sam Arellano earned a promotion to Giant's director of marketing. Arellano has worked at Giant for five years and had managed the company's Mosh BMX brand until last summer, when Mosh discontinued its bike line to focus on parts and accessories. In August Arellano became Giant's brand manager. As director of marketing, Arellano will oversee Giant's marketing department and focus on branding and advertising strategies.
- Eastpak is doing a European team.
- Some Eastern News by Leigh Ramsdell: After months and months of not being on his bike Brad Gethard started riding again. He's postponed his leg surgery until November. Speaking of Brad, Eastern has a new chain out. For a bicycle. That's right. Phillip Teague is still kicking ass in the warehouse setting up new racks and living without electricity and losing things. I have no idea what I'm even saying. I (Leigh) just won the first Transam Texas Holdem Poker tournament recently. It was held in the Little Devil/Transam warehouse and was one of my greatest accomplishments. Ever. I'm also getting ready for my move back to North Carolina. I'll be heading to Greenville for the summer and then make plans to move to Raleigh later. Our old web site designer and former Play clothing owner, Hal Brindley took second place in a photo contest in South Africa and won a trip there. Now he's there for a month doing his new passion, shooting wild life photos. Check out www.halbrindley.com for his amazing photos. Mike Andrews is still living in Florida and 180ing anything he finds. Kyle Judy won't return my phone calls. Well, that's just because I keep dialing the wrong phone number. Man I'm an idiot.
- BMX legend Brian Blyther broke his neck hanging out in the desert with his friends. He broke two vertebrae but first news is that things are going to be okay. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Get well soon sheriff.
- Gary Young is off DirtBros and on the MacNeil team. Boss Jay Miron is stoked to say the least.
- News on the streets is that G. Walsh is starting a P&A company. The coalition involves names as J. Rich and T. Mihelich. Believe it, or not!?
- Barth Wahlen has launched "Groundcontrol", a website that should serve as a spotlog for bmx riders. After you register, you can upload your own favorite riding spots and share them with the rest of the world. Everybody can rate these riding spots, through which the best riding spots will be featured in the "Top Spots" section. We can go on and on, but you should just check http://groundcontrol.rizm.nl.
- The Man In Black is staying busy. Check out what Thorne Buster has been up to lately:
= Last week went to Florida & Arizona for Case Logic to sign autographs at trade shows for Best Buys & Boarders.
= Last Friday hosted the red carpet for Billabong in Anaheim at the Grove, it was the XXL Awards, it was live on the Billabong website.
= Right now I am filmin' for the short film "Mulberry Park" in LA, look for it at the film festivals this year, it's a gang movie where I get shot.
= I have been riding up at Woodward gettin' ready for the CFB next weekend, XGames look shady this year, only 10 go to the games, how they miss out on so much.
= BOOST MOBILE recently sponsored me, I'm stoked to be part of the team, thanks.
= Featured in these video's that recently released: Warp Tour Video, Slammed, John Comer documentary, Natural High 2
- The RedBull Circle Of Balance was won by Yanmar beating Alex "Go-Kart-King" Jumelin head to head in the final. KGB's Martti Kuoppa battled with Fly's Matt Wilhelm for 3rd and won that fight. The event was nuts and showed that Flatland sure is a rad sport/art to watch. Report up on FATBMX soon.
- West Coast's flatland gangsta Jesse Puente showed up with a signature KHE frame at the Bike 04 event that looked quite trick. Jesse has been riding really well and had no problems getting used to the machine.
- Ben Hennon and Ben Manuel are now riding for HARO Bikes UK.

- The Shady Shadow Conspiracy team consisting of Alistair Whitton, Joe Simon, Byron Anderson, John Jennings, Ryan Sher and newest England INTL Rider Owain Clegg are on tour again. They headed out for a trip in Florida and Georgia to film some more for an upcoming Shadow DVD.
- Peter Geys has finished his personal vert ramp. The Bike Devil will have a grand opening on 20 June 2004. With plenty of riders, a barbeque and TV around, "Peter's Passion" should be a fun day with some good halfpipe sessions.
- Chris Moeller entered the Sea Otter Classic event racing 4X and dual slalom on a 26" S&M Saint. He didn't do too bad either beating overpaid MTB riders racing in brown Dickies and a Pro-tec. True S&M style. Things went down (literally) when he was leading the 4X semi. Still not bad for a 30+ first timer.
- The Condor Mat Hoffman recently destroyed two more bikes when he rode out of a plane twice for a Nickelodeon TV show. The Condor did plenty of spins and flips until he got too many G's out of it and left the bike to land in a bunch of slime for the TV show. Next to parachute jumping Hoffman has also been going back and forth to his new 100 foot wide vert ramp with his paramotor. Ramp sessions are back up.
- Some 60 American BMX racers and fans will make their way to the UCI BMX Race world's in Valkenswaard, NL at the last weekend of July. They'll be in town for the Pre-race as well to get used to the track.
- Volume 11 Issue #52 of Props Video Magazine will be out shortly. It includes a bunch of good stuff with revolutionary riding from: Toronto Metro Jam: Toronto Canada, Backyard Jam: Bournemouth England, Austin scene Report: Austin, TX, FBM Last Call Contest: Little Rock Arkansas, Women Of Freestyle Road Trip, Home Made Jam Flatland and Street Jams: Amsterdam Holland, As a bonus Props added Props Video Magazine Issue #29 from January 1999 in its entirety to the DVD.
- FITbikeCo is coming out with 4 complete bikes ranging from $219 to $399 retail coming out of Taiwan. High-end frames will still be made in SoCal by the S&M/FIT crew lead by Chris Moeller. AA Pro racer Neal Wood is the latest rider employee over in Santa Ana. Neal has been clocking in at 6am for the last couple of months. After work is done at 3:30pm there's still time to hit the trails.
Some Dutch News by PDJ:
- Mark FOX Vos almost beat VanHomen at the HomemadeJam in Amsterdam, he didn't this time but watch him in the future. Mark made the move from VANS to ORCHID just before this contest but is still on Paul's Boutique and Eastpak.
- Den Bosch is gonna be a major BMX city according to the guys from the Storttrails Den Dungen. Downtown is selling a lot of BMX bikes and they are building trails at the local skatepark right now so they might be right.
- Michael v/d Lee (UGP & Eastpak) is working on killer brake cables with his next door neighbor. Plans are being made to get them on the BMX market worldwide.
- Sander Nieuwenhuis and Riccardo Moes will be doing some Halfpipe demos at the Dutch GP Motocross at Lichtenvoorde on May 15th. Paul's Boutique will be there to promote their new division: Distribution of UNIVERSAL MOTOCROSS PRODUCTS in the Netherlands.
- Dennis Keunen (PROPER/Eastpak/Vans/Shadow) is back on his bike and nothing is gonna stop him this year, the miniramp in Aarle-Rixtel is being ridden daily and so are the Sugarhills, also the Concrete pool in Tilburg is not save anymore, Dennis is killing it lately!
- FlatTV 3 DVD is out and super good, if you are a flatlander you can't miss it. Get your own DVD now cause the FBI is warned to get all you cheap copiers from the street and lock you up for months, there is even a built in virus that will kill your computer immediately.
- First and Second May will be the weekend of the European Championship round in the PROMISE in Heerlen, the first of 3 rounds so don't miss it.
- The A4 Trails are gone....... well that was the rumor but it's not true at all, they were in bad shape because those fucking MTB'ers didn't fix the jumps after they destroyed them with their full suspension crap bikes so this is an advice for them: BUILD YOUR OWN SILLY JUMPS NEXT TO THE A3!
- FAT JAM 2004 will be bigger than the years before, the party is already organized and BIG things will happen at the SUGARHILLS this year! August 21st and 22nd is the date so don't say you didn't know after you missed it.
- FIT will be supporting Chubby in 2004, he was the first to call PURE BMX Distribution after they asked for riders so don't complain and call fast after someone ask for riders you fools!
PDJ
- The TEAM 2-HIp BIKES SUMMER 2004 tour will be the biggest tour EVER!
