We've got some random BMX news for you in this update. You might have heard about it, might not. Anyway, here we go:

Rock Star Dick Slater made an appearance at the Deconstruction tour in Switzerland. The Faze-7 rider from the UK was seen doing Nourie handstands on the vert ramp's platform to get the crowd going. Later on he threw down some high 540-s and wrapped the show up with a flair. His Otto fashion jacket was bitchin'.

Alistair Whitton is off the Little Devil team and off SPY and signed with Oakley for glasses and clothing.

Riders in the UK who are looking for a Premium Products Frame will have the chance buy one of the 50 golden frames soon. They come in two sizes and will only be available in the UK through Moore Large. Can you say bling?

John Parker informed us that the first issue of Sophisticated Rider is finished and off to print! Issue #1will be available mid June. This issue features Jamie Bestwick, Andy MacDonald, Kenny Bartram and the Pro Riders Organization. It also has articles by guest
writers; Gabe Weed writes on the state of flatland and Jimmy Coleman reports from the show circus. AND the first Sophisticated Writer competition is under way. If you want to be printed in issue #2, see the web www.Sophride.com or the first issue to find out more. Issue #2 will be out in Oct. You can expect to see competition coverage from around the world as well as features and insight into the world of action sports.

Suzuki BMXMasters have confirmed the first acts for the live stage. The following live HipHop acts will bring the expected 23,000 visitors in good mood: Das BO, Reen, Äi-Tiem, Toni-L, FlowinImmo + Band, EinsZuEins, Liquid Elementz, Haitian Star, Fader Gladiator, Future Rock, Rick Ski and the mighty Pow Pow Movement.

We received some info on the Eastpak flatland riders from TM Nadia who had just returned from the Braun Ninja Spin:
The EASTPAK best trick was on Saturday and saw all comers thowing down for the prize money....fine combos from Michael Sommer, Martti, Alex and Viki....
In the end Viki won (yeah Team EASTPAK!!)
The Pro final battle was between Alex, Martti, Viki and Wolfgang. Great news for Eastpak is that Viki won (yeah!!!), Martti second and then Alex third (also Eastpak, so double yay!!)

The BMX Freestyle Worlds Championship in Prague
Prague central tennis court on Stvanice Island will host flying BMX riders instead of typical tennis balls. From June 1st till June 5th Prague will become the number one on the World extreme sport map. The Prague Stvanice Island hosts the World freestyle BMX Championship, the official title is Nokia BMX Freestyle Worlds 2005. Over 500 riders from all over the World will participate in. Freestyle BMX is a leisure BMX variation originated from BMX races and nowadays consists of 5 different disciplines: dirt, street, flatland, miniramp and vert. The highlight is the contest in the 3.8 meter high vert ramp, located directly on the Stvanice central tennis court.
