News flash! Yuppers! It’s true, the OM of BMX, Scot Breithaupt is back on the attack with SE Bikes for 2005. He’ll be back on the track aboard the infamous 26in ‘OM Flyer’ and the legendary 24in ‘Floval Flyer’.
Scot quipped:
“I settled an agreement last night with Todd Lyons, my friend of 22 years. He is a tough negotiator! I started out asking for a Ferrari, a Lear Jet, three Playboy bunnies... and some bikes of course. BUT he beat me down with all his budget excuses and I settled for a case of Rosarita's Refried beans, 36 tortillas and a few bikes. It’s all good. At least I'll have the bikes and food to put me in the lead and then I can gas out the competition!â€?
He went on to say:
“Seriously, I am honored to be back in the SE stable, I’m an SE Racing Factory Ace once again! Yes, Todd will be spearheading the design team at SE Bikes and
bringing back their innovative, creative spirit and fine touches that put SE WAYYYY ahead of it's time! Quality and function are first and foremost with Todd. If he asks, of course I will give my input, but Todd is a very capable guy all on his own.
Todd “The Wildmanâ€? Lyons commented: “Scot not only founded SE Bikes back in the 70’s, but he’s also credited with starting organized BMX racing. He has more roots in BMX than anyone in the sport. We are both charged up and ready to go after our chats over the last few weeks. The deal is DONE, so Scot will be right back where he belongs, on an SE!â€?
Look to see the SE team dominating BMX again in 2005 and the future! The new 2006 SE bikes that were designed and spec’ed by Lyons will debut this September in Las Vegas at the Interbike tradeshow.
