No one eclipsed Dhers 1st run during their second so Daniel took the opportunity to school the Portland fans on almost every variation of the 720 during his second run. Even his clinic of 720s during his second run, which was really just a show, scored Dhers an 89.
When asked if he planned ahead to do every variation of the 720 during his second run… Dhers responded with “I didn’t do every variation… I skipped the 720 double x up…”
“It is impressive to see this tour grow, and to see how each individual athlete deals with the ever present pressure to perform and win at the highest levels. Daniel Dhers overcame a tour stop that had given him trouble in the past. Daniel never had good luck in Portland until he put the hammer down in his first run to win BMX Park. Mike Spinner had an outstanding run that included a quad whip and a 1080 but Dhers came out of the gate with a run that included a 720 can/can, nipple tuck, Alleyoop 3 whip transfer, and a huge double whip air.
