We like original stuff. It's hard to come up with that from time to time. The people at Allride found something new: BMX Kwartet. Don't even know the English word for it or if they even play it in the USA but it's something like this: You get some cards and try to collect 4 of the same cards (Kwartet) by asking other players if they have a certain card. Info on each card helps with the questions. The good thing here is that the cards are all BMX companies. Most of them distributed by Allride in Germany. It has 4 FIT Bike Co riders for instance, 4 riders from Primo, four T1 riders, four Failures, 4 Tree Bike riders etc.

A couple of T-shirts we received at the FATBMX offices over the last few weeks. Time to get them online:
1) Mutanie Bikes. New company from Mexico. T-shirt design by Chris Althaus who also hooked us up with the T-shirt.

United are taking off like an airlines company. They've got different model frames available but not only that. Handlebars, backpacks, sprockets, coloured wristbands, Forks, a wide selection of T-shirts, seats and by the time you read this they've probably added another product to the line.

The big Swoosh brand is trying hard to jump into the radder sports like skateboarding, snowboarding, wakeboarding and of course BMX. They've developed a team, some shoes that would have to work with these sports and they're creating an image that would have to fit that new direction. The Oncore is a Nike model in their 6.0 NKE range. We got sent a pair to test. I've never been a big Nike fan but giving the shoes a try is always possible. The sole is pretty stiff and feels kind of wide and flat. Feeling your pedal through the sole like in the old Vans is not an option here.

Chilliwack, British Columbia – Crupi’s Team Green National Canadian Team looked really impressive all weekend long with each member of the team making their mains! The team has been together for 3 full seasons now and we are really proud that their 3 years of hard work and dedication has really paid off. Congratulations go out to Team Manager, Sean Sinclaire and the entire team. The team is now looking forward to another great season in 2007 and working toward a great showing at the 2007

The ever dialed Tom Haugen (Snafu/Free Agent) brought the bad news himself:
"I have just gotten hurt and am done for the season. I broke my tibia, fibula and ankle. Had 2 screws put in and am laid up for awhile. I was really looking forward to the Dew Tour final and the Dallas year end LG comp. I also had just bought a ticket to go to Shanghai with DMC and Koji for a comp."

Olivier Morineau, the organiser of the French "Vibrations Urbaines", sent us some info on this year's edition (9th edition).
It's one of the best "by and for riders contest" in France. It takes place on 4 and 5 of Nov. 2006 in Pessac (very near Bordeaux airport, or station), and that is the weekend right after the Backyard Jam in England. So if you are in England, you can join the French people because we are trying to organise a road trip from there to France. Last year we had 130 riders for the contest, with all the best French riders and guys like Hanu Cools, Barry Khone... and John Petit on the mic and Manu Sanz on shooting. 

It came from the darkness... The first issue of the Quadangle Looptail prototype frame has stepped back into reality. It's been 20+ years since this legendary frame was last produced. Well, it's coming back onto the scene. But in limited numbers. So you better track down your favorite SE dealer before they're all gone.

Minersville R.I.P.
Some bad news came over the wire today. The trails in Minersville, PA were plowed yesterday. A young kid got knocked out, an ambulance was called, his parents freaked out, sued the land owner, and the bulldozers were deployed. It’s a sad story but unfortunately one that happens to trails all too often. Everyone here is going to miss the good times, but we’ll always cherish the memories.
