Mariana Pajon (COL) will both be competing. In total 120 Elite men and 40 Elite women have singed up for this ultimate Olympic test. Next to Pajon and Daudet most of them will be eager to improve their performance of the UCI BMX World Championships that were held in Copenhagen at the end of July.
About the Olympic BMX Track
Located in the north of the Olympic Park in Stratford in east London, the new BMX Track is approximately 450m long and features an eight-metre high ramp at the start, followed by jumps, bumps and tightly banked corners. For the first time ever the track features the ‘Oakley Underground’, a 15 m long tunnel, part of the women’s 2nd straight and the ‘Red Bull Box Jump’, a challenging and technical feature where Elite men fly on a box and off again.
Nationwide coverage in USA
For the first time since the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the American public will be able to see a major BMX event on nationwide television.
