2012 has kicked off with a great start winning the first 2 Australian National Series UCI rounds of the year. Nerang is always a fun event, its the first event of the year, its good to see everyone again and get back into the swing of things.
The Nerang track recently bitumened the corners and made some changes to the track. It was a hot and sticky weekend with temperatures up in the 30's.

Day 1's final saw Lauren Reynolds and myself bump in the

first turn, I managed to get a good start and hold on to take the win day one.

Results: Caroline Buchanan 1st, Melinda McLeod 2nd and Lauren Reynolds 3rd.

Day 2's final was action packed with a close finish at the line. I lead from the start then coming down the technical 3rd straight I lost my rhythm with Lauren passing me into the last turn. I then passed her down the last straight and Melinda came through for the 2nd finishing the day with the same podium positions as day 1.

This weekends results brought me up from 4th position in the UCI world ranking up to 2nd place :)

Some exciting news for 2012 Mitsubishi Motors and Speed Bicycles are part of my team for 2012.

I am definitely very excited for a successful and busy year to come. A huge THANKYOU to all my new sponsors and parters for 2012.

Next stop Canberra 2nd-4th March for my next UCI Australian National Series round.
