The 2nd stop of the Carhartt "Visit my town" project, the location: Vienna, Austria and a colourful cast of characters. The idea was to get 5 members of the Carhartt team to meet in a selected city, which was Vienna in Austria, which is home to both Sebastian Grubinger and Michael Sommer and basically have a good time. For some reason I thought DIGBMX had gone monthly. But with the latest issue being the July/August issue it doesn't make sense that way. If this is a "double issue" it is justifyable with the mag being 148 pages thick. Making a quality magazine is tough. Everything needs to make it before deadline and when deadline nears, things usually are going wrong, get delayed and editors end up becoming a friend of an energy drink that will keep them awake long enough to get the job done. A "photo issue" is an easy solution for a break in deadline time but issue #65 of DIG is far from that. Not that there aren't great pics in it because Adam and Dolecki take care of that part. DIG's layout has always been good. It's easy to spot a mag with no style and bad design but we haven't been able to comment DIG on that. It's not stale by any means either. Good job.

Round two of the Dew Action Sports Tour have kicked off. The dirt discipline was up first. Bohan won, AA racer Nate Berkheimer scored a second! and Ryan Guettler got third. More to come.

August 8th, marks the Vans Barak Invitational presented by Alex dropsy. This year The Shadow Conspiracy and Frenchy's distribution have teamed up for a best trick over the channel contest. Check the photo for an impression of the channel and expect more action going on in the South of France on the second weekend of August. If you cannot make it to the FAT-JAM, this is a good alternative.

The AST Dew Tour, the world's premier season-long action sports tour, begins its second event of the season on Thursday, July 17 with the Right Guard Open at Cleveland's North Coast Harbor. The five-city tour also includes stops in Baltimore, Portland, Salt Lake City and Orlando. Currently in its fourth year, the AST Dew Tour is the most watched and attended action sports property in the world. Attendance for the 2007 AST Dew Tour totaled 280,000 and an average of 41 million viewers tuned in via NBC and USA each year. The top athletes in the world will take part in this year's Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup that will be awarded in Orlando at season's end to champions in each of the six disciplines. The 2007 Dew Cup winners include Jamie Bestwick (BMX Vert), Ryan Nyquist (BMX Dirt), and Daniel Dhers (BMX Park).

There are a number of athletes to watch on the fourth season of the AST Dew Tour-both veterans and a few new faces. A list of a few of those athletes to watch is as follows:

This Sunday at the Cleveland AST Dew Tour, Nike 6.0 will be swapping your blown-out kicks for new 6.0¹s for the first 30 peeps with old sneaks to recycle. Bring your camping gear and get in line early to make the top 30, then show your support at the BMX Park Finals. Gates are scheduled to open at noon. BMX Park Finals go down at 4:30.
