PRESS RELEASE – SAN DIEGO, CA Big News from Avent/Bombshell, Awesome Trips, New Products, Donny Robinson Update, Upcoming Events, We have it all! We have been really busy over here. Last weekend was awesome. Went to the DC Sprint Trails Event. Randy came home with the win, proving that Bombshell forks are the precision level fork for top pros. The way he was carving those turns, you would have thought it was Thanksgiving. Mike Day gave him a run for his money with the fastest qualifying time. No matter though Randy made it over the finish literally going over his bars in the final race to beat Day. It was a great event, thanks to Danny Meadows for taking care of the track and Dwayne over at DC for putting the event on and thanks to the Stumpfhauser's for letting them put the event on and all the hard work they put in. We'll be looking forward to next year.

You don't have to travel to Tasmania to ride 30 year old skateparks. Smaller budgets can bring you to Liege/Luttich/Luik. This Belgian city hosts a really old concrete snakerun. Inspired by the Burnside project in Portland, some people are looking into expanding the park. They're having a jam soon to collect some funds for cement bags. Here's all the 411 from Stephf: Last year we organized two “concrete workshops� at the snakerun of Liège (Belgium) with the Brusk crew. Young and old generation skaters and bmxers worked together in order to update the 30 years old skatepark!

Front Brake Revolution, Rampage Jam 2005 -By Ben Foakes- The second FBR Jam just took place at Rampage Skate park, Davenport, Iowa, USA. The event brought together the greatest front brake tech riders from around the globe to bid farewell to the legendary skate park that has served the mid-west BMX and skate scene loyally for the past 16 years.

It's been a busy month. Somehow there does not seem to be a slow time. Also in March we've kept the updates coming with the appreciated help from contributors worldwide. Without their help you would be stuck with what's going on in Helmond and Aarle-Rixtel and I can tell you, that's not enough for 3 updates a month! What did we see at FATBMX in March?

Let's go back, waaaaay back. The 1980 April issue of BMX Plus! takes us to the first NBA race in Soledad Sands, California. The year is 1973 and we've got three riders on this page that made a name for themselves. First up is #78 John Palfreyman who turns out to be one of the first guys, if not THE first guy to take a BMX bike to an empty swimming pool. Next up is #63 of former Kawasaki and Shimano factory rider David Clinton Last but not least riding the apehanger bars is non other than Bob Hannah who became an American motocross legend.

This coming Monday FATBMX will be on tour with the HARO Bikes crew in England for a week. Updates during that time depend on internet access while on the road. Expect a full blown report when we're back though. HARO UK tour 2005 - 29 March - 3 April After two years it's time to get back to the UK with a posse of HARO riders for another little fun tour. This article was originally run on FATBMX in February of 2003. Why not post it again. A little history brush up never hurts. I had always thought that Bob Haro invented freestyle in 1978. That is until Crow sent me pics from 1975 of John Palfreyman and Thom Lund riding pools on BMX bikes. That's pretty BMX freestyle to me. But there is more to it. Crow had interesting stories and background info on the DogTown movie that Stacey Peralta directed. We interviewed Stacey in an earlier update on FATBMX.com and did not get much BMX

At FATBMX we've followed the BMX scene since the late seventies. Paul and I needed to get our hands on everything that had a BMX picture in it. More people were like that at the time but the difference is that we saved everything in an old box. Make that several boxes! Over the next couple of months we're going to dig in and show you some history. We'll show some pictures and list some quotes out of the magazines that have been collecting dust, some of them for over 25 years......
