FRONT BRAKE REVOLUTION GOES STATESIDE The “Front Brake Revolutionâ€? part 2 is to take place at: Rampage Skatepark, Davenport, Iowa, USA on 18 th /19 th /20 th March 2005. Jam creators and organisers: Ben Foakes and partner Jasmine O’Brien have teamed up with Standard Industries’ Rick Moliterno to make the project happen. Rampage Skatepark will sadly close indefinitely the week after FBR 2 and this will be the last chance for riders to congregate at the legendary location and bid it farewell. Special ramp modifications are being prepared in the weeks leading up to the jam to make the park more BMX friendly.

Soul #26 has been released. It's by far the most international video magazine around. The quality of the Winter 2005 issue seems to progress in the same way that riding is progressing. It's got a Frenchman on the cover (Thomas Caillard) and shows footage from the Heartattack tour up in Scandinavia, the Urban Games in London, A bio on German Sven Hoffman, The Twenty jam in France, The Carhartt Ravage Road trip through the Netherlands + Germany, The Backyard jam in Derby, UK, a Bio on Aussie Corey Bohan and a Soul trip to CZ, A and SK. The video is 43 minutes and has a 32 minute bonus section. You can watch the trailer in the FAT Movies section.

Here's some info about Snickers activities this year. Snickers Sundays are back with a vengeance, but rather than cramming it all into the summer months we've decided to spread it out across the year - Snickers Sundays events will be taking place in the first and last 3 months of the year, with Snickers Best Trick events occupying the summer months. Throughout the year, Snickers will be touring the country, each month focusing on a different region. See below for a press release along with dates, with more to be confirmed. SUNDAY IS NO LONGER A DAY OF REST Sundays used to be a day of rest but ‘SNICKERS Sundays’ are back to liven up the weekends throughout 2005. At weekends, SNICKERS is teaming up with selected skate parks up and down the country to offer free admission to the first 100 people attending a Snickers Sunday (so get there early to avoid disappointment).

The level of the BMX riding has gone through the roof. The System DVD proofs it once again. System Cycles distribute the brands of DK and FLY Bikes and they teamed up to make one video with riders from both teams. Brian Kachinsky is definitely suicidal. The rail tricks he does are insane. Sergio Layos has so much flow and Chris Doyle is one of the best overall riders. It's nice to see some dirt in this DVD too. Behnke is taking it to the streets and Biz can drive any truck. Kevin Porter's part doesn't disappoint one bit. These riders have built up a name for themselves and for a reason. The DK/FLY riders were taken on several trips which results in unique footage at different spots. The extra effort is appreciated. The editing is clean and the music does not annoy. All in all a great DVD with some interesting bonus footage on Colin Winkelmann that you have to see.

You might have noticed that FELT is on the FATBMX program this year. We decided to check in at the FELT offices in the USA and caught up with Alan Foster. How are things at Felt? Alan Foster: Felt is good. We're at the end of January and we're working on '06 product now. As far as team activities are concerned, Scotty Cranmer is staying on the team, which was a fight, and so are Paulie Lange and Scott Walkowiak. Those are our main three guys and we do two grassroots teams, one is a race team out of California and one out of Connecticut. Then we have a flow team with Rob Jensen

When a magazine is 164 pages thick, has a big size and is printed on quality paper, the postage might be more than the magazine printing itself.

Supercross action with hobby rider Bart de Jong The Suzuki Crossover Challenge is a race of Athletes from different sports mixed with Celebrities that takes place during an actual Supercross event. For the 2005 season the race took place at the SBC stadium in San Francisco, California. Instead of riding RM 125 bikes, this year the Crossover Challenge was raced on DRZ 110 mini bikes. I managed to score a ride but was so unprepared it wasn't even funny. On top of that I dislocated my shoulder the week before riding some BMX at the Bellflower track. It took a "whatever it takes" effort to make it to the evening program. With 38.770 people in the stands, it was on, but for how long?

We received a mail from Dylan Close who asked if we wanted to review the Physical Graffiti DVD. Yup, no problem, just send it over. I didn't really know what to expect but was hoping for some sort or graffiti art video. Turns out that Physical Graffiti has more to do with tattoos, piercings and pain. The DVD has a documentary feel to it and that is a good thing because the footage is pretty old. Neal Wood, Dave Mirra and Jay Miron are in it too. Jay's on his Hoffman bike and Dave on the Blammo.
