The Flatland is Unlimited Contest Series will kick off 2008 during the Toronto International Bike Show. Where else can you ride indoors in March in Toronto. You must register for the contest in order to ride inside with us all weekend. Pro rider Chase Gouin will be riding all weekend and showing us some great flatland demos. Come see Terry Adams defend his back to back titles from 2006 and 2007. Late at night or early morning, depending on the way you look at it, I met Aversion's Louis Mikolay at Pascha Pizza in Tallinn. I apologized for not getting his video reviewed on FATBMX but quite frankly, it wasn't the guy I had in mind. Aversion videos have appeared on FATBMX before and this is the latest clip featuring Alex Kennedy and Vince Mayne riding in the South of England where it's always warm and sunny (yeah right). 
The third Beat City Jam went down in Münster on February 16th 2008. Unfortunately, not as many riders as in the past two years showed up, but the turnout was still pretty good, with cars from all over Germany parked outside the skatepark. The jam was held at Skater’s Palace indoor park and like always the organizers Jochen, Roland and Alex took care of a Bmx event like it should be. This jam is all about chill riding with friends, but there were also a couple of little „contests“ to keep the visitors satisfied. The first contest was held in Münster's rather wide miniramp and had kids and pros riding the ramp together. The comp was nice to watch and had plenty of bangers as well as smooth riding. The 10 meter wide miniramp has been overhauled since last years jam and a roll in channel and a small subbox were added. Daniel Tünte, competed in the kids’ class, but has moves like a pro. A nice 360 to Fakie across the channel, clean Whips and Barspins to Tailtaps were his ticket to the winner’s lounge. 
The next UCI SX World Cup BMX race will be held in Adelaide, Australia. The Aussies are stoked to welcome the Supercross circuit to their home country and have set up a form with info for all visitors. Find the information below:

Back in the day it was hard to communicate. Calling the USA cost you over 2 euros per minute, for a letter to make it to the USA and back you could count on a few weeks at least. Magazines arrived months after they were sent and those were the only way to view new tricks. You had to look at the photos and figure out yourself what the hell they were doing. Paul and I tried to balance a sideglide on the spot. Little did we know that the guy in the photo was actually rolling. You had to be creative at the time and whenever there was a contest, every rider had something new to show. When video camera's became affordable for some people, it started to get better. You could actually view what was done and rewind the trick to make sure you got it right. For the longest time the American NTSC system messed us (Europeans) up. TV's and video recorders could only handle the PAL system until a few years after that when both the TV and VCR could play both. That's when we could see what tricks the Americans were doing. It's a done deal, the FAT-'zines will go online starting from this weekend. Every weekend you will get to read a copy of the infamous xeroxed FAT-'zine. Riders from the new school won't understand a damn thing about it but riders who were into it over 20 years ago will get a weekly flashback by reading the 'zines. Some of you have saved a few copies but you can now read them online starting from this Saturday until we run out of issues. That should be until some time in October. Boy were we harsh on TrickX magazine in the 00 issue! Good stuff, crazy stuff, stupid stuff, you will find it in the FAT-'zines. Misspellings too, plus scooters and skateboarding and terrible photocopied pics. We just wanted to warn you. It's coming!

After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
