multiple crews participated. The videos that were premiered showed what BMX street is all about! The Onwies Knallen crew took the first place and won €1.000. Amsterdam is a urban sport city for sure!
This year it was the second time that the Soulcycle BMX Championships took place. Different this year, compared to the first time a year before, is that all contests where concentrated on the Museumplein. Also we did add the video contest and the spine mini contest. “The best part about this event is that BMX riders from the Netherlands and from abroad gathered. Furthermore; a challenging event, good weather and a good vibe.”, BMX rider Joeri Veul said.
The Soulcycle BMX Championships counts 150 riders. Not only professionals and amateurs from the Netherlands but also riders from Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Chili, Germany, England, France, Hungary and Russia came! The level of BMX is really high nowadays and that we have seen back at this ultimate event. The riders did whatever they could do to amuse the crowd and to get placed in the finals.
The Urban Sports Week Amsterdam is an unique event whereby Soulcycle gave all attention to BMX. What BMX rider Janos Baars said about this event: “Such a sick event! This shows what BMX stands for in the Netherlands!" And we agree. The Soulcycle BMX Championships Round II was a blast and we can’t wait to see everyone next year at the USWA 2018 Soulcycle BMX Championships!
