Back in the 80's Lee Reynolds was a charismatic guy on the BMX scene, and still is a charismatic guy today. Lee Reynolds was a name that blew up in the mid 80's as BMX was falling down in the UK, despite the some what lengthy distance between Milton Keynes and London, he became one of the locals of meanwhile quarter pipes crew that would feature regularly in BMX Action bike.
Woody Itson - September 1988 - BMX Freestyle - Columbus, Ohio
In the mid to late 80s in the UK the small town of Retford near Sheffield was one the main hubs of BMX riding in the UK. It got known as the Trumpton scene. And featured a long side London's Meanwhile and Chingford as the new hot spots of that era.
Peter Adam takes his video production in a whole other direction with the release of LIFERS, a film focused on a select group of riders in DIG's birthplace of Belfast, Northern Ireland who all started riding around 1980 at the height of 'The Troubles' in their hometown. Riding against the backdrop of violent sectarian, state, and terrorist conflict, made BMX in Belfast let's say, 'a little more challenging', than it was for most riders growing up in the eighties elsewhere.
Some months ago, RBK started the process of developing a mold for the Flyte Tech Seat. This was of course a product that was specified on the RL 20 II Prostyler, among many other Freestyle bikes from the mid-1980s era including Kuwahara, Peregrine, etc. RBK receive regular communication requesting this product, and it's now offered in three classic colors - Black, White, and Blue. Because the Flyte Tech seat is a non-Redline product that falls outside our RBK manufacturing plan, this product is offered on the shortest lead time possible and produced in a mold that has already been developed, refined, reviewed, and readied for its first shot of resin. The first order has a quantity cap to meet the desirable delivery timeframe and as RBK have no insight into demand.
