After a rain soaked elite mens practice earlier in the day the Time Trials qualifications at the Dutch Olympic Training Centre in Papendal the Netherlands got started in windy conditions as the wind swirled around the track in all directions. When it came down to the Super Finals it was all business for the girls with five of them managing to boost the big triple step-up jump on the first straight.
Manon Valentino stepped it up to third place with
Alise Post taking second both improving their qualifying times by over two seconds.
Mariana Pajon once again showed her big match temperament in the second and third straights with a clinical display of Bicycle Motocross smashing the course in an incredible time of 37.207 sec to take first place.
Pajon said:
“I had a really good gate and first straight, jumped the triple and just wanted to go smooth and fast and just have fun – I'm very happy with the win.” Men: Only three seconds separate # 1 to # 64 With 115 elite men taking on this massive course in Papendal and with only 64

to qualify for the final round of racing here tomorrow competition was fierce. The top 64 men had just 3 seconds separating them and the top 16 just 1.3 seconds over the 386 meter long track.
Time Trials World Champion
Connor Fields did what he does best and once again proved that he can win on any track, anywhere with an incredibly fast lap of 38.064sec displacing 2nd placed
Jelle van Gorkom from the Papendal Hotel Hot Seat and pushing fastest qualifier
Damien Godet down to third.
Fields commented:
“It went really well, can't think of any mistakes that I made or anywhere were I could have gone better – Top to Bottom an overall good lap.” This sets the stage for tomorrow’s head to head racing at the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup Round 3 here in Papendal, where the Dutch home crowd can expect great results from the Dutch Team as well as fast racing from the other 19 BMX countries represented at the event.
